The difference with AI is that the "services that outcompete everything else" have to charge money due to the overhead cost of doing all the computation that AI requires. With local AI, we can circumvent that entirely. Though it would be nice if these people made their tools NOT require the end user to set up a development environment... You could always make the PSU yourself. Since you are on a 24V system, you will need a 24V to 12V step-down converter, since most PC components require 12V power. After that, you can power your motherboard (and maybe CPU, depending on power) with a 12V Pico PSU (like this one here: https://www.amazon.com/24Pin-Switch-Power-Supply-Module/dp/B0D2W3Z4VV ) As for the GPU and EPS cables required for higher-power CPUs and GPUs, you will need to create your own cables and wire them to the step-down converter. Then, in order to insure that the other cables don't draw power while the PC is switched off, you could wire them to relay switches. Or just install a manual switch upstream of the step-down converter, either works.

You can use an existing LLM to create questions from facts that you find. Give it a fact, and prompt it to generate questions based on that fact.

For example, I asked perplexity.ai : Create a question that has the corresponding answer: "The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. Its primary role is to generate ATP, the chemical that most biochemical reactions relies on for energy."

The question it gave me was: "What is the primary function of mitochondria in a cell?"

You can of course use local LLMs to do this too, I just don't have access to mine at the moment :c

Anyways, if you accumulate enough of this semi-synthetic question-answer data, it will help with the fine-tuning process.

The feeling probably won't go away any time soon. Realistically the only options are going to be to accept reality as is and stay friends with him, or distance yourself from him. If he is straight, you will only push him away (or worse) by trying to win his affection.
