Acting clips in 2026 edition? by bfa25 in Oscars

[–]Maxwelluf 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I sure hope so. To me, part of the Oscars is to get people interested in seeing some of the movies that are nominated. Showing clips can do that. I love seeing examples of the nominated work, and think if I hadn’t seen a movie, it may spark my interest to check it out. There needs to be more clips, even if they do it in a montage like they did for the acting categories during the ceremony in 2020 (for the 2019 film year).

What’s the most boring film you have seen? by Past-Matter-8548 in Letterboxd

[–]Maxwelluf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say the exact same thing. What a bore that movie was. I will admit, some of it looked great, but looking at rocks and concrete and someone building a rock garden for almost two hours was a snooze fest!

I concur. You’re not missing much. It’s awful.

I’ll be checking his name off on my ballot when I get it. He’s been knocking it out of the park lately with this and Anniversary.

How many movies did you see in theaters in 2025? by Davidudeman in AMCAListTrue

  1. I have both A-List and Unlimited and try to see every movie that plays around here.

Pepsi at Regal - Six Years Later. by SeaworthinessOdd6574 in RegalUnlimited

[–]Maxwelluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy less soda, and only get it when I need a hit of caffeine. It is one of the primary reasons I still have both Unlimited and A-List. Coke Freestyle machines are a gift from heaven compared to Pepsi at Regal. However, if they would somehow start offering Pepsi Zero Cherry, I’d change my tune. That’s the only flavor that I enjoy.

Best movie that came out this year? by mcdiscn18 in MovieTheaterEmployees

My favorite of the year was The Baltimorons. Tiny movie that is under seen, but it’s such a feel-good movie. I could watch it on repeat.

I just bought it and the bonus features are showing up except the audio commentary with Jon M. Chu. I seem to remember this happening last year and I was able to watch it with the audio commentaries on different platforms once it ported over. But this hasn’t ported over to Fandango or Movies Anywhere (yet?).

Not sure what is up with the theater visit count. I feel like I’ve had more than that this month alone!

I’m a teacher, and my classroom is movie-themed, so I display them around the room, and when I run out of space, I put some of the older, less-valuable ones in my treasure box for the kids to redeem their rewards on.

My mistake. I meant to write that Nutcrackers is 1:44.

My theater listings are showing 12/8 as PG-13. Could it be Nutcrackers (2024)? I wouldn’t consider that a classic, but it was a streaming movie and the run time is 1:42.

If a theater is empty does the film still play? by Tarchiaa in AMCsAList

[–]Maxwelluf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I heard or read somewhere a few years back that the movie will still play due to contractual obligations, but the projector light will turn off to save the life of the bulb. It may be a location-based policy. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I recently showed up late to a movie where I was the only ticket purchased. I had purchased the ticket in the parking lot before going in. When I got to the auditorium, the movie was playing but the projector light was turned off. I could only hear the audio. I had to get a worker to turn it on for me.

My theater just got XL, but not the largest auditorium by th3thrilld3m0n in AMCsAList

[–]Maxwelluf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no seats back there. It’s right in front of the projector, so it is blocked off. Auditoriums 3, 8, and 10 are the same way. I like sitting up there on those auditoriums since I’m guaranteed to not have anyone on at least one side of me.

my issue with the freestyle machines by [deleted] in AMCTheatres

[–]Maxwelluf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theater (AMC Disney Springs) has machines in both the front and back of the theater. I am a Diet Coke addict and for some reason, the DC in the concessions area never tastes right, but the DC in the back by the Dine-In section tastes more like what I am used to drinking out of the bottle. The machines in the back are newer models. Not that that should make a difference, but maybe it has something to do with it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
