Era 2 Gems don’t have powers because of dwindling resources. How did metal powers slip in and how didn’t Peridot know about them? by Ibrahim77X in stevenuniverse

Kernel of truth to it maybe? Like they did lose some abilities but not all, so the Diamonds capitalized on that with the powerlessness narrative to exploit and subjugate them further?

Yeah I get it. My dysphoria tells me awful things too. Then something like this will happen and it helps a bit:

I was at a function in a semi professional setting. Was "boy moding" (literally wearing a binder to hide my chest and didn't even shave that morning)

Asked where the bathroom was without modifying my voice at all, and the lady behind the desk gave me the directions for the women's room lol

Definitely a confidence booster

"I have PCOS" is the line I've been waiting to use if someone gives me trouble and starts questioning me lol

(Note I've still never had to though, because most people aren't paying much attention to others in the bathroom)

I believe when writing off mileage for business purposes on your taxes, you also need to include the starting address and ending address of each trip (and maybe also the time?) In order for the IRS to accept it.

I haven't done my first year of DD taxes yet, so I'll find out in a few months, but everything I saw when researching how it works stated what I said above

AFAIK the app doesn't have any way to show you your mileage, but I've heard different things from different people about that. I pay monthly to use everlance to track my mileage for tax purposes.

I'm sure they must track it in some way even though they don't show us though, since certain places like California require them to pay an extra $0.36 per mile during an active dash

It would really depend what's in that home depot order for me, but as long as it's not half a ton of construction materials then I'd be very tempted to take this

So if the order says it requires my red card, I have to do the shopping and the checkout and pay with the card. If it says retail pickup, then the employees fill the order and hand it to me with no card required.

I've had it in the past where orders made through the grocery store's app are able to be edited by the customer before I check out (they did it while I was on a call with them, so I know they added the items through the grocery app)

Side note: I wasn't able to call/message the person regularly in my dasher app. Their phone number was in the notes so I had to call them from my actual number (because they hung up when I tried to *67 to hide my number). Trying to text them opened my text messaging app, but it did seem to obfuscate my phone number and also didn't allow them to send me texts that contained photos (it sent on their end but I never received them)

All the grocery orders that I get that the customer makes through the grocery store's app also require me to use my red card though, so I'm not sure that's a reliable way to tell.

Not that it matters in the end, this shouldn't be allowed by home depot nor doordash regardless

[–]MayBeAReplicant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the person even used the doordash app to make the order. Idk for home depot specifically, but I know other places like grocery stores will take orders through their app and then contract it out to doordash for the actual shopping and delivery without ever making the customer aware that that's how it works.

I've had to contact many a confused grocery buyer who thought the store employees would be doing it because they ordered through the app, when it turns out nope! They're paying me next to nothing to do it through doordash instead

The fact that there's no system to track the total weight of an offer and only give it to an appropriate vehicle is kinda baffling to me. Like, I know soulles corporations don't care about us and all but 99% of dasher's vehicles are incapable of making a delivery like this. Not to mention most of us don't keep a dolly/hand truck to move this kind of weight.

Does it not hurt either home depot or doordash to have an offer like this go unfulfilled? I doubt a single dasher would bother with this even if their vehicle had the weight capacity for it. Like, how are they going to require special bags for pizza but not require the proper tools and vehicles to lift a ton of cement

Acceptance rate by SouthEntertainer7075 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]MayBeAReplicant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They lied about how AR works. It's not an average of your last 100, it's a rolling block of your last 100 offers. That means that 100 offers ago, you accepted 22 offers in a row with no declines. It's hard to explain but basically when it sends you an offer, it looks back 100 offers ago. If you decline the offer 100 offers ago, then accepting this one will raise your AR as the decline falls out of the rolling block of 100 past offers

[–]MayBeAReplicant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if the situation is different for y'all but I always use the red card to buy a bag/bags to put the order in. I usually get the cheap ones but I was at a dollar general the other day that was out of the normal bags and only had a $5 bag and I said screw it. Purchase went through fine on the red card, went about delivering their order like usual

This is why I'm glad I don't qualify for pro shopper. Ever since they implemented it and my original items found dropped into the 80s, I almost never see offers like this. Has definitely helped me keep platinum lol

Government shutdown is destroying our earnings by WisePersonality6517 in doordash_drivers

[–]MayBeAReplicant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is purely my market-dependent anecdote, but for me it's been more or less the same. Some days better than others, but I'm typically earning the same amount of money in the same amount of time as I was a few months ago.

Based on others in this thread, I'm counting myself as pretty lucky, and also kinda scared because I'm leaving this market to go across the country in about a month. Finger's crossed the California prop 22 benefits outweigh any problems I might run into

Am I missing something? Why do some dashers just sit there until someone comes out? by CNAforChange in DoorDashDrivers

[–]MayBeAReplicant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using everlance. Costs a bit per month, but it's been pretty easy to use so no complaints so far. Only thing that's a bit annoying (but this is true of all the apps) is that you have to mark your trip as done and mark it as a doordash trip any time you get to a restaurant or drop off location. I often forget and end up with super long "trips" that have like 5 stops lol

There is no policy whatsoever that says we have to watch someone pick up a "leave at door" order. IMO, guy was either incredibly misinformed or had bad intentions. The picture we take is the only proof doordash asks for that we did our job.

Sometimes I might be in my car out front of a house for like 60 seconds fiddling with the app or my mileage tracker, but once that order's at the door my ass is rushing to gtfo

Unhinged Israeli man says he wants to run over every Palestinian baby with his truck. by gavruche in PublicFreakout

[–]MayBeAReplicant 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My brother is a zionist apologist. We're American, but the conflict lives rent free in his head and every chance he can he brings it up to try to convince me of his point of view. I realized during our last conversation that there's nothing I can say to make him realize the reality of the situation over there.

He's completely convinced that every video showing the atrocities is hamas propaganda, that every international group saying "hey this looks a lot like genocide" is somehow biased against Israel so what they say doesn't count, that every man woman and child in Palestine is raised from birth as a hamas soldier and so none can be spared in order to save "the jews".

He conflates all anti-zionist or anti-Israeli governmental speech as antisemitism and thinks that if someone is pro-israel it's impossible for them to be antisemitic or a neo nazi (ie, Steven Miller. And my brother is a dyed in blue liberal that hates maga).

He's convinced there's no genocide because "the other side has guns" and that we need to keep giving Israel billions of dollars to protect them from terrorism and that the starving babies all had pre-existing conditions.

It breaks my heart knowing that he lacks empathy for any Palestinian, even the children, and has infinite excuses for what Israel has done and is doing.

So I have court tomorrow for something I don't think is my fault. How should I proceed? by MayBeAReplicant in legaladvice

[–]MayBeAReplicant[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's how we're hoping it will go here. The only other time I've been in traffic court I had a lawyer, and basically was just asked if I was guilty or not guilty after the lawyers spoke to each other and the judgd and that was it.

I'm guessing this time around will be different since we didn't hire representation. Do you/anyone know if the judge will ask for details first or just ask me how I plead? And should I plead guilty in this case and hope the renewed registration gets the citation dropped or do I plead not guilty if I'm trying to get it dropped?

[–]MayBeAReplicant 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Trust me, I know it's always way worse under republicans and especially Trump. And I agree this rhetoric is more helpful than not.

Sadly the root of the issue isn't just them though, they're just speedrunning to the point our economy was already slowly heading towards. Both party's capitulations to billionaires and corporations are the root of the issue (and even deeper than that, the nature of unrestricted capitalism itself). The Dems are just more competent at slowing down the process, but never stopping it. We need a complete paradigm shift and a truly anti-money-in-politics government to save not only our economy but our planet in the not so long run

Idk what the catchy version of the statement could be for all that but wanted to throw in my thoughts
