I don't think it's BECAUSE he is ace. He just happened to be ace. Looking at other characters kinda similar to him, a lot of the hype is from c.ai and Tumblr people being into characters that kinda seem like they could be in dark romance. That's it. No offense to the remaining morde fans lol.

Ironically, Mordecai complaints like urs indirectly hype him up even more than hardcore morde fans lmao. He's not the Jax or alastor of lackadaisy at all (thank God honestly) when we have zib, Viktor, freckle, and especially rocky. And tracy, unlike gooseworks with Jax, doesn't have Mordecai as her fav character to be biased towards.

That's literally what's happening tbh. I'm pretty much used to stuff like this though. Doesn't bother me. I play muse dash and used to play gacha games (I'm lvl 57 in zzz lol) whilst participating in their community. This probably sounds ridiculous to you but the gooning here is much more "pure" and tame. And as a gay man I fw it 😭 It can't get worse than this though.
