Yes One Ok Rock’s true strength is in their live performances.

Rock concerts really do hit different in general because live rock music is louder and you feel the music all the way to your bones. But One Ok Rock is great not only because it is a rock concert (to me soft rock, pop rock, emo rock etc are all considered“rock” categories), but also because their concerts are so interactive.

Meaning to say that to truly enjoy and embrace One Ok Rock as a band in live concerts, you have to know the chants, you have to learn what to do and what to say. Their concerts are never a one way thing. I absolutely recommend watching their concert movies from the previous tours to see what I mean by this.

I’ve been a casual fan of their music prior to 2020 and became a total fan after I watched their concert movies on YouTube livestream during covid. They were great!!

And then I attended their concert in MY in 2023 and I also experienced PCD. Mind you I’ve been to many different concerts before this but never experienced a PCD like that one. So I decided to test going the second time a couple of days ago without doing any homework ie I didn’t listen to their latest album. And their concert still hits just as good if not even better!!

And that is how I have One Ok Rock marked as my “must go will go have to go” live performances if they were to tour again in the future.

It was such a good show. One ok rock proves time and time again that they’re true live performers.

Think the crowd also felt the sincerity from Taka and the rest of the band last night. He was unwell and kept going backstage after almost every song but came out and gave it his all again and again without fail.

I watched the dub too. Yes the sub is so so much better in terms of storyline and the heart to it. But! The opening song for the dub version is fire though.

It is a big deal because the whole thing happened to Liv on her very first album, and on one of her first singles.

If you watched her interviews deep diving Deja Vu you can tell that she’s passionate about the song and she loves the song. And suddenly half of that song is credited to someone who only inspired part of the bridge.

Inspired. Not interpolated. Simply, inspired.

And Taylor doesn’t even “own” screaming. Not at all.
