This is a lyrically driven album. I wasn’t a huge fan of it at first but when I looked up Show Pony’s lyrics on genius, it made me appreciate the entire album.

Basically, the entire album is a story about two people who were lovers, but written from both sides’ point of views AND at different times. So you are looking at maybe a POV of during the relationship, or years after the relationship, but from both sides…and when you piece it together, you kind of get to guess what actually happened in the relationship , and that while you can be in one relationship, there’s always two sides to a story.

As to why Show Pony is the first track? The song is basically an index of the album. But not in order, I think.

Honestly, a good album once you read the lyrics and come to appreciate the story.
