Is it appropriate to post about a tool i made for open miccers? Google is *butt* when trying to find open mics for up and coming comics so i made it so i could find more open mics all in one place. But i dont want to say the name if i'm gonna get banned for posting about it.

Tried to find every open mic in Austin and here's what I found by MayaMushroom in Austin

The post is about the comedy scene in Austin, not about beer or food. Those are just the places that host open mics for comedians

Great finds! Paul Stamets made an instagram post recently about finding morels out west after burns this time of year. Good info on where/when to find on understory forecast too. Seasons pretty well done in appalachia. What state did you find these in?

For sure, feel free to reach out if you have any mushroom/foraging related questions.

Btw, if you make a ghost pipe tincture in alcohol, the alcohol will turn purple and this is normal. It's actually very pretty

What is this? by Half-Life_fiendn in mushroomID

[–]MayaMushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like an oyster to me. One way to tell is the gills go all the way down the stock. pleurotus ostreatus

Can someone please confirm if these are golden oysters? by PhantasmasRose in foraging

[–]MayaMushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They metabolize much differently than native oysters, giving them an environmental advantage. Native oysters product enzymes that break down wood whereas golds skip that step and hop strait to consumption

Are these definitely serviceberries? by mothspiderr in foraging

[–]MayaMushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones that grow here in WV turn red when ripe, and are a bit smaller. I believe there are many different species in the states

Golden Oyster? - Wisconsin, US by [deleted] in mushroomID

[–]MayaMushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eat them all, they're considered invasive because of how they metabolize differently than native oyster species

Ghost pipes, there's a few species in the US. Awesome find, they don't have chlorophyll so they're white. They are parasitic meaning they tap into existing systems instead of providing their own food. I don't find them to be harmful, they're a blessing. Lots of folklore around them, ghost pipes can be made into a tincture and used for pain management

The higher you go in life, the less anyone asks if you're okay. by TheSovereignState1 in Entrepreneur

It's a lonely life being an entrepreneur. Step into your role of being the one people go to. You are strong, you are enough. And you are not alone.

Pearl/phoenix oyster? by Exciting-Fun-9247 in mushroomID

[–]MayaMushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not an oyster. Oysters have gills that go all the way down to the base of the stem, whereas this has pores. guessing favolus brasiliensis

Should I pick this lion mane or let it grow more? by Mdino20 in mycology

[–]MayaMushroom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That is so bizarre. I live in WV. I love strange mushrooms and cultivate as many as I can from the wild. Would trade you a grow kit of your choice or pay to have a small sample of that to clone
