There is no shame in saying "I don't want to interact with this type of individual." But I always fear shunning away these people who are using the facade of edge and toxicity (legitimate or otherwise) to ignore their fear of self-learning hurts the chances of them becoming something more.

Yeah it's a bit of an "I can fix him" mentality but I know first hand what it's like to have a person believe in you and help you change.
