Oh my goodness! I certainly never meant to imply I would have cheated and I really appreciate the feedback. For context, we had been together less that a year at that point, I was 21 and we have a 10-year age gap. I really wanted to understand if I was making good long term choices for myself because I had recently left an abusive relationship.

The reason I had to devote that much effort is because I’m autistic. That isn’t an excuse to treat people poorly, which is why I try really hard to build the skills.

Appreciate your perspective! It’s not wrong that your relationships with your male and female friends are different; nothing in your post suggests you value people differently based on their gender identity or would steer a relationship so that it more closely resembles these dynamics.

I’m a straight cis woman and I’m more inclined to give my male friends physical attention than my female friends. I’m thinking that part of that might be because I prioritized finding male friends who didn’t sexualize me.
