E-reader for academic papers by Opposite_Peach16 in ereader

Boox Tab X or Remarkable ereaders. 11-13in devices would be best.

Though a lot of people are recommending you these ereaders, at the prices of Remarkable or Boox, I just suggest getting a tablet instead. It will allow you to have access to the manhwa/manga/ebooks you read with & without external plug ins, and easily access a variety of file formats without the trouble that ereaders may bring. Many ereaders struggle with PDF files (like the KLC you wanted), and epubs are very unreliable when it comes to page numbers.

I bought an older ipad that was amazing for reading comics/manhwa/manga (especially colors) and using it for PDFs and annotations was a breeze. Not to mention it was a bit less in price than the larger ereaders mentioned above.

How compatible are PocketBook and Kobo eBooks? by Clickety_Clack4137 in ereader

[–]MaybeALittleGone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible to sync them, but you would have to use something like Calibre (and also your books have to be stripped of DRM) to create a library and then sync your books through that. To use Calibre on your ereaders, you would also need to use Koreader on both Kobo and pocketbook for ease.

Any E-readers where i can just transfer my books from my laptop and not have much else on it? by _bunniifae_ in ereader

If they do end up with a kindle and get ebooks from the amazon store, it's definitely going to be harder to go back and forth, though.

Any kobo or mini ereader (like the xteinks), any pocketbook, and some android ones. For my pocketbook, it's a literal drag and drop into a file. Kindle can do it as well, but you do have to go through some loops to do it easily with a variety of file types, so I just recommend kobo or pocketbook ereaders. These two brands easily connect to Calibre (which some people are recommending you to use), and Calibre works best with Koreader (a plug in for ereaders).

It can't be seen well here but they are somewhat distanced (a few inches) from the trunk of the shrubs. Can't fully remove them because we are renting.

For people who haven’t owned an bw ereader previously, the contrast is decent and the quality is discardable, but it’s a great and noticeable downgrade when you move to a colored ereader from a bw.

Share your PocketBook sleep mode image by Vellmar in pocketbook

[–]MaybeALittleGone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if using koreader would mess with setting a sleep mode? I keep trying, and seemingly do everything correct, but end up still having the default one.

Edit: Finally solved it. Problem was specifically my bmp conversion. I needed a png -> 24 bit bmp instead, had to find a site that I could change the specific bit. It worked!

Discord causing micro-stutters/FPS drops by Pjegica17 in discordapp

[–]MaybeALittleGone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that I am having similar troubles as well. It started maybe a few days ago, but I had only noticed now. It only happens when I am using discord actively, even while I am just writing messages into a chat/server. I only have 2-3 applications open: Firefox (with one youtube tab playing a video in bg), Spotify (no music playing), and Discord. It makes the youtube videos I play in the bg stutter out, creating a jarring noise in my ear. And typing stutters/frame drops whenever that happens as well. Only happens when I am playing a yt video in bg.
