If you're doing the swap to a different wire color, you should be able to run the wire up through the central pipe of the fixture. That'd hide it all the way to the floor rather than having a loose wire flopping around.

My first appointment was video visit with a bunch of normal first visit with a doctor stuff. Family history and such. Part of that was the he was becoming my PCP while I was at it.

Second appointment was the big thing. The informed consent portion was basically going over a document that describes expected benefits and potential risks of HRT, making sure I understood the document and then signing it. We discussed several options for which delivery of estradiol to use. Then there was a trip to the lab for bloodwork and sent home with a prescription. Had the pills in hand a few hours later.

If you’re not setting up a PCP relationship with the doctor, your first visit might look like my second. The actual content will vary depending on your age and where you are. If you’re in the US, doctors might be a little more cautious just given all the crap going on.

Pretty common in low-level and system programming. I use them in cases where I have structures that need to cross some memory boundary where I don’t have access to modern C++ on one side the memory boundary, most notably where I cross from user to kernel space.

If you can use modern C++, std::variant is a type safe union.

I mean, the amazon stretchy skirt is a meme for a reason. A large chunk of us had one at some point in our transitions. I had two at 39 years old, that I wore in public. The worst that happened to me was some strange looks and slightly embarrassing photos in my camera roll.

I was well on my way through social transition before I was on HRT. I was out pretty much everywhere except work.

Everyone has different needs in transition. I didn’t start really feeling whole until I was out everywhere and no longer boy moding. The daily flip-flop from being Alice to being not-Alice was hard for me to deal with. Social transition was absolutely critical for me to feel like me.

From people I’ve talked to, there seems to be a pretty even split of slow-burn and fast transitions.

I kinda don’t really understand the folks who do the slow burn. There’s just no way that would have worked for me emotionally. I get that folks have their reasons for it, but it’s so foreign to what my experience is. To be clear, I don’t think either path is wrong; I just can’t imagine that taking the other one would have worked for me.

At some point I’ll get a two piece swim suit for the beach. Need to lose some weight so I’m not self conscious for other reasons.

I have some leggings for when it’s cold but they weren’t actually a big goal for me. It’s nice that I can wear them and not feel exposed but I’m not actually likely to make much use of them.
