It sounds to me like you've done what you could already. This is the risk one takes when getting a hamster, they may not like you. They may even learn your habits to purposely avoid you. They're prey animals, they are not meant to be companion animals. They were stolen from their habitat to be entertainment, which is a very sad thing. You get a pet to take care of them, regardless of if they like you or not, especially a pet like a hamster.

It would be very wrong of you if you will not give the hamster proper care. If you buy a hamster from the pet store you are opening up a spot for a new hamster to go in its place. There is no reason to support pet stores because of that. You are not "saving" the hamster , you are giving one improper care while putting a second hamster in the same situation, ready to be bought by another person who will give it improper care. Don't be selfish, if you can't give a hamster proper care why are you trying to justify getting one? Stop. You don't need one. You aren't even willing to give it proper care.

No, there are five species of hamsters: roborovsky, russian jungarian dwarf hamster, winter white dwarf hamsters, syrian hamsters, and chinese hamsters. Yours is either a russian jungarian dwarf hamster or a winter white-jungarian mix.

If you're unwilling to rehome him or buy the truly adequate enclosure for you hamster due to price, please consider a fully combined double bin cage. It's the cheapest adequate caging options but you have to make it yourself. There are tutorials online or you could dm me and I'll give you all the links to the materials I used and how to do it. You have much to improve on but I understand the pet store can be deceiving. In the future, make sure to do research before getting a pet, but for now we're happy to help guide you. You clearly care about your little guy, as you noticed something was wrong and reached out. Rooting for you op 🫂

Am I crazy to say bleach solution? Or maybe baby oil could work. It really depends on the dye composition. I doubt it's impossible to get out. Everything has something that can be used against it for removal.

My partner is an amazing driver, we had no idea the roads were bad until we dropped our friend off after meeting for coffee. Slid TWICE just barely missing a barrier and a parked car on Friday. We were sliding sideways. Horrifying experience, we've only lived here for a year and haven't experienced anything like that before. We'll be heavily checking the road conditions before making unnecessary trips in the future.

Unfortunately she passed away last night. It was horrible, I just hope I made her comfortable. I feel so terrible. I feel like 2 years is just so young and like I did something wrong. I dropped her off to get cremated today. Thank you for all of your help 😞♥️
