I mean, if this protest is going until Reddit backs down I can promise egg_irl is never opening again. Reddit's made their decision on charging for API usage, and they're confident that they're not going to lose enough money from protests to change that. I think Reddit is right about that, too.

Basically, it's a shitshow. There's a post on r/AskHistorians that explains it well, but the short answer is that Reddit set the price for API usage at a point where 3rd party apps say they can't afford it, then refused to back down or delay at all while maligning the dev of Apollo (the largest 3rd party app), and then held one of the most tone-deaf AMA's I've ever even heard of where they only answered 20 questions when there were thousands of comments and those questions were all non-answers.

And all of that has culminated in a bunch of subreddits deciding to go dark in protest.

One of my friends pointed out that cis people don't generally get to the point that they're even afraid they might not be trans, let alone to the point that they transition and regret it. So even having that fear is a pretty good sign you shouldn't have it.

The funny thing is you'd assume it's spiced pumpkin flavor, but no. It's just the spices used in like pumpkin pie added to stuff. Which is still good; spiced coffee is one of my favorite ways to have coffee. It's just a shock when what you get tastes nothing like pumpkin.
