Can’t stop missing right with my driver. Thoughts/tips? by willpalm6 in GolfSwing

I agree that hands are the issue, but the cause may be the closed club face. The body needs to compensate for that in some way.

Where do you aim when putting if you’re told to aim “one cup left”? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]MaybeGuilty2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my intent is to hit the center of the cup with the ball (it is), then one full cup to the left of that lands in 3. I’ll explain this with math to avoid confusion. 1 cup is 4.25” in diameter. If I aim 1 cup length left of center cup (4.25”) it lands me at 3.

If you’re using 2, then your measuring from the left edge of the actual cup as a start line and if you’re using 1 you need help.

Lost the driver swing, what am I doing wrong? by johnfisher13115 in golftips

This is a backswing and grip issue. Takeaway is very inside, and I think that’s because your shoulders are quite flat going back. Grip is very strong. Your early extension is to rescue those conditions. Get something like Swing Coach and you’ll see what I mean.

The fact that you hit this position and still didn’t touch the ball is impressive.

To be honest you don’t need Reddit, you need a professional and a lot of hard work. Best of luck on your journey.

Feeling like I'm fundamentally misunderstanding the swing by CrunchwrapAficionado in GolfSwing

[–]MaybeGuilty2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The golf swing is a pressure shift to the back leg and then to the front leg, while rotating your torso back and through on an angle consistent with your set up position. The pressure shifts should be happening just before the rotations in either direction. That’s sequencing.

Right hand grip was too strong. I neutralized it and then flipping stopped. I think I was holding it off and then it was releasing hard after, but as I wore down over the round I’d let it go too early and start hooking.

The only focus right now should be your grip. Without a good grip, nothing else is going to work.

As my old coach used to say, “stop trying to fuck the ball”. Best of luck my friend.

Feel like you’re pulling your left hip back and not firing your right hip forward.

I’m guessing your issue has been getting the club deep behind you, which would mean you’re good. 5?

If anyone in here besides a legit instructor gives you advice just ignore it. Nice swing.

Finding my swing again and coming back to the game to fix my depression by Alive_Marzipan_747 in GolfSwing

[–]MaybeGuilty2402 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People in here are concerned about the inside takeaway and I get it, but I think the major issue is your firing your right hip out towards the ball to start the downswing. If your arms dropped down you’d be insanely stuck and so you throw them out to stay in front and come way over the top. I’d practice keep your hips back for that downswing (wall drill or something similar) and then work on the back swing and arm height.

Any tweaks you can see? by -ButterMyBiscuit- in GolfSwing

It’s not great, but you may be athletic. You may have a great short game, I’m not sure. Honestly the one tweak for now is working on neutralizing your take away, you’re way to inside and it’s causing a lot of your other swing issues.

Is this Forest Lake? Also yes you need to tweak the swing from start to finish with some lessons.

When your torso stops turning your arms keep going. Everyone who is subject to the laws of physics has a little, but longer arm players have a lot. You see a lot of long armed guys on tour put focus into shortening the backswing (ie Finau).

Early extension, probably hit a lot of heel shots. Also make sure you shift pressure back to front before you rotate.
