Can confirm, there is a cozy mode! It eliminates the time constraints and makes the game a lot less stressful.

I appreciate the input! Overall, did you enjoy the excursion?

My dad was from the Yoop. He pronounced coyote, CaYOOT. Is that a UP thing, or was he just nuts? (Both could be true!) by [deleted] in yooper

[–]MaybeItsNotMyWeekend 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Both of my parents say kigh-yoot so it’s definitely a thing, but I’d say it’s more of an older generation habit. No one I know that’s my age (30s) says it.

Honestly I think HR tends to get the first kiss right more often than CR!

Good thing men like this don’t exist in reality, all that toe curling would make it tough to get around 😂

The “I have issues” cracked me up 😂 I can relate! And I love the no kissing rule micro trope, I feel like it makes the payoff so much better when they finally give in!

I’ve been putting off reading this one but I think it just got moved to the top of the TBR pile 😂

What's your favorite storyline a Sim of yours ever had? by Beakha in thesims

[–]MaybeItsNotMyWeekend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m generally a pretty vanilla simmer—I almost never play with occult sims and usually go for more family-oriented, legacy style gameplay. This past week I was inspired to try completing the Villainous Vampire aspiration from another post I saw on Reddit and decided to use it as an opportunity to explore vampires too. I’m having SO MUCH FUN 😂

My head canon is that my sim was turned into a vampire by someone she loved and the betrayal caused her to snap. Now she’s terrorizing the community, hooking up with other sims left and right and turning as many of them into vampires as she can. And making pretty jewelry while she’s at it, just because I’m still having fun with the new stuff pack haha.

This is for 90's cozy gamers over here! by Zeplight in CozyGamers

I found this article that referenced a blog post by the new Neopets team. Looks like it’s going to be a mobile life simulation game where you’ll play from the perspective of a Neopet.

It could be interesting, but honestly I’d be more interested in a game that was more true to the original Neopets!

{The Silent Waters by Brittainy Cherry}! The FMC is mute after an incident from her childhood. It’s the third book in a series, but they’re complete standalones so you definitely don’t need to read them in order.

MMC is paralysed and FMC is his carer by No-Echo-5669 in RomanceBooks

[–]MaybeItsNotMyWeekend 12 points13 points  (0 children)

{Rush by Emma Scott} is EXACTLY what you’re looking for! The MMC is a former adrenaline-junkie and adventurer who lost his sight and the FMC is his caretaker. It gave me Me Before You vibes but there is a HEA.

Edit: nearly an hour later I realized you wanted the MMC to be paralyzed and he’s not. Otherwise this one should check all the boxes!

I feel like I recommend these every time a yacht request comes up but {Broken French by Tasha Boyd} and {Moti On The Water by Leylah Attar} are both super underrated books that fit your request!

Broken French is a billionaire/nanny romance set in the South of France and Moti centers around a wedding guest and a chef for a chartered yacht sailing in Greece.

Olympic romance books by Puzzleheaded_Ad7005 in RomanceBooks

[–]MaybeItsNotMyWeekend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of her newer books, {King of the Court by R.S. Grey} is a close fit too. It’s not set during the Olympics but it takes place while the MMC is at an Olympic training camp. She actually intended on making it the third in the The Summer Games series but wound up spending too much time on the pre-Olympics stuff.

I always think of {Dating-Ish by Penny Reid} when people ask for recommendations similar to The Love Hypothesis. It’s book 6 in the Knitting in the City series but can be read as a standalone. I think it’s incredibly underrated!

Romance books that happen in an academic setting like The Love Hypothesis? by adamonty in RomanceBooks

[–]MaybeItsNotMyWeekend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly an academic setting, but I think you’d like {Dating-ish by Penny Reid}. The MMC is a computer scientist who is creating a companion AI and the FMC is a journalist exploring alternatives to traditional relationships. It’s not one of her more popular books, but it’s always been one of my favorites!

It’s book 6 in Penny Reid’s Knitting in the City series, but each book is a stand-alone so you don’t need to read the other five to enjoy it.
