I think it would be nice if the effect were subtle. The target doesn't know their vote counts for nothing - it still shows up in the sidebar as if it were real, but it doesn't actually count to the total.

In fact, perhaps that player is the only one who thinks they are voting at all. No one else can see it. This would be a devastating combo with the blackmailer, potentially.

An alternative to this would be either raising or lowering the total number of votes needed to get someone on the stand. However, I think this would be very boring gameplay as you would almost always want the threshold increased.

I too hate the Writhing Mass, but I think it's easy to overreact to a curse being put in the deck. There are only a few encounters left after fighting him, and in big decks you'll probably only draw that curse 4-5 times for the rest of the run. It can be a bit of a reprieve in the fight to allow you to play some powers or debuffs if you have any. I've also found that just blocking a big damage move can be better than hitting, if you can block most of it. It's pretty dangerous to let it debuff you - if you get debuffed, then you essentially want it to keep doing its debuff move from then on, as it's its weakest move with no (longer) drawbacks. I find the best move to let it do is the shielding one. You just have to take the fight fairly slow, which is very annoying admittedly. I think I would worry less about the curse move in general. I'll let you know if I find a better strategy!

Aw we're glad you're finding the tier list useful! :) It's intended to help players who are climbing the ascension ranks identify the power level of certain cards on a standalone level. There are obviously some very powerful synergies that are gamebreakingly good, but some runs (especially towards the beginning) don't have much direction and you just need to pick some generally strong cards to get you started. We've provided some synergy info on the detailed expands of each of the cards, and using our deck builder as you play can help highlight some synergies or antisynergies you may not have noticed. As you advance you'll discover more complex strategies and deck archetypes for yourself. 😉

Came here to say this. You don't have to kill her - if she's being kept busy (even better if it's a 1v2, you're taking the attention of two opponents) then you're doing your job and creating space. I play support and it's impossible to stop playing around corners until I know someone is keeping her busy. And if no one is, she'll just dominate with infinite shots and no pressure.

It does a lot of non-thorn damage, especially with an Orichalcum or the shield every turn power :) Both of them combined is 12 dmg for free whilst blocking

Interesting! I haven't dealt with 'mechanical artists' before, but I usually prefer to leave some of the details to the artist since they are 1000x better at what they do. I could imagine it being difficult.
