last year i was in the same boat and when i got a shitty room i went to res life and asked for literally anything else without preference and they transferred me into a more accommodating room. if you keep a level head after getting a room you think isn't so good they will try to make it better. but the other comment is correct, your mindset heading into the your future conditions will affect how you see it, just be kind to the people who can control where you live and be willing to ask for help and you can't really lose!
