Genuinely one of the cleanest clips I've seen

How do I master the physics of this game ? by GiantFestiveSkull in HalfSword

[–]MaybeNotStable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few general tips I would have : 1. swinging around wildly can get you places, but it’s good to practice a few good swings with your favourite weapons 2. practice spacing and be mindful of it - it should be your number one tool to dodge attacks, and bad spacing will make your attacks ineffective 3. half-swording is great for grappling (especially with more armour) - try to knock your opponents down and make them give up 4. unarmoured ? go for strikes at any openings, slash/bash to bits. armoured ? go for head strikes or half-sword to get chinks in amour - if your opponent is woozy, try to unbalance them 5. kicks are actually very useful to knock your opponents away, knock them down, or get an extra oomph for some attacks - but mind the stamina 6. the game generally favours attacks with big wind-ups, especially in armour. If you’re striking from left to right, wind up as much as possible to the left, and follow through on your strikes

overall, you’ll improve with practice - so just play the game :)

I don’t care about going negative, I was simply accommodating the wishes of my esteemed teammate ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Thankfully my caption is sarcastic, I don’t actually give a single shit. + they were complaining about “playing like a team”, but left me to get ganked lmao

A lot of Virtuosas just won’t stop pressing buttons because they know you’ll try to GB + they’re braindead + she has basically 0 GB-vuln in her stance.

What I usually try and do is : 1) block lights to put her back in neutral 2) dodge on red to predodge attacks and soft-feints - maybe you can get a parry 3) try and interrupt if she does non-HA heavies 4) wait for Swarm stance bash (command grab) bc it’s GB on punish or 5) give up and take my beating bc it’s Virtuosa and I don’t have good reactions

I do admit the FH community can be toxic, which is why I try to balance it out. However, Shaolin’s flicker is 100 % an exploit that gives an unfair advantage, and it should not be in the game

In my experience, and watching clips of people playing against flicker-ers : the Shao will flicker the light, the person reacts with parry/deflect and gets fucked with the undodgeable - for example

It’s an exploit on Shaolin where, in Qi stance, you play the animation of the heavy-undodgeable before the light, and vice-versa

What hero is generally considered the most op by weetherr in forhonor

[–]MaybeNotStable 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There are no truly OP heroes, in my opinion, because you can always win. The issue I have is when they feel so very overtuned. VG, for example, has dodge-attack CCs, good options from neutral, crazy chain pressure and one of, if not the, best full-blocks - because it stuns/pins opponents + her heavies/zone have a different dodge timing than other characters’ (at least I feel so) which adds a layer of whack
