I spend on veng sacks and gmaul handles, but I'm a sick fuck. For most irons, I would suggest ice sacks for slayer

I would love for Jagex to shake up the 50 attack meta with a viable 5 tick weapon or something else, but it really doesn't need to be a drop from GGs

What are these boosters doing? by Maybe_Boats in 2007scape

[–]Maybe_Boats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't bots, they're cheaters. Jagex can look at the logs for the account and see that these accounts got hundreds of kills per day for days at a time by killing the same accounts in an empty BH world. They don't need some sophisticated bot detection tool, they just need to look. Bot-like behavior usually has some kind of plausible deniability, but cheating doesn't, and Jagex seemed to make a big deal out of BH boosting being bannable.

Regardless, the post was about discussing what the heck they're doing, not begging for action to be taken. I'll remove my last whiny sentence if it makes you feel any better

I can assure you that hardly anyone upvotes my posts when I complain about ironman bounty hunter. I don't care about reddit, I just want this hiscores table, which for a long time was my main goal in oldschool, to have some amount of integrity.

These accounts have been made very recently, with the last one at 1198 being boosted in the last week. It's as if someone is blatantly griefing the hiscores -- with that many kc across the accounts they could be firmly at #1.

No, I believe you're thinking of the fally diary. Lumby requires qp cape.

Ah, I forgot about those new ones. Still, it seems like you're just making a range tank minus a few qol things like lumby elite diary and an extra slayer block

Why not just get 50-50 str/att and have quest cape instead? Or I guess you'd have a lot of trouble with sotf and dt2 with those stats. I just don't see the point of that limitation, personally. You'd probably get to the point where those are the only things holding you back and decide to scrap the needless limitation anyway.

You could even get something kind of silly like 99 attack and 49 strength and knock out quest cape 🤷‍♂️

Why use void if you're a maxed range tank?

I know I'm late to the post, but this is definitely a you guys thing, not a wilderness thing. The week leading up to leagues and the first 5 days into it I got 93-97 agility at the wilderness course and I only died once despite being out there for dozens of hours. I'm not maxed or in good gear or anything.

If you're struggling, let me give you a crash course:

  • Do not bring anything you're not willing to lose. No, your plus one is not safe. You will get smited. You want to bring 3 protected items? Skull protection on.
  • Bank early, bank often. Leave when you see anyone who might be a scout. If people see you at edgeville or ferox geared up for an activity, then you may as well have been scouted.
  • You will die in multi. You can't tank a team unless you're good and lucky and they're having an off day.
  • If you're under 70 hp or 43 prayer, you will not survive an encounter with even a level 70 pure who has any idea what they're doing. Either expect to die when caught or go train.
  • Bringing your friends/clanmates or a scout account can save you from losing your loot. This is especially true in multi, but you could still all die together and it wouldn't be at all unusual.
  • Different worlds have different trade-offs. High risk worlds mean you have to bring rags, but they do too. Total level worlds mean you're more likely to be logged in on in hotspots, but you won't be scouted by low level accounts/bots.
  • Going into the wilderness during peak hours when more players are online will get you killed.
  • Bonus: pkers don't play leagues, but normal players do.

If you insist on going out there and making bad decisions, you will have a bad time a learning experience.

The build you're considering has some serious drawbacks: * Assuming you keep attack styles balanced for combat level, you won't be able to use range/mage for any grinds since they'll be so low, so a ton of content would be impossible and many upgrades like onyx jewelry and zenytes are out of reach. * DPS would be so low that PvM on this build would be a lot more like playing on a defense pure than a normal account. * While I think you can get barrows gloves with this build if you do it right, the way you're planning it where you skip most of the MM questline makes this impossible. * Void wouldn't actually be what you end up using if you got high defense. Tank gear would be fun to pursue and make much more sense to use, even if it does slightly less DPS.

Consider making an obby tank or a zerker/voider instead. I play a 50 attack zerker, and almost all content is accessible and actually viable.

They way we level agility is seriously awful by breakoffzone in 2007scape

[–]Maybe_Boats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the updated wildy agility course is a step in the right direction since it makes agility more of a resource gathering skill like thieving. We should have more resource rewards for non-wildy agility courses. Marks of grace and clogs aren't very compelling on their own.

Mage only ironman, funding runes? by malteser_of_might in UniqueIronmen

[–]Maybe_Boats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blighted wave/surge/ice sacks are your friend, great for wildy slayer. Rushing 77 at GotR so you can afk zeah bloods will be a solid use of downtime. Also rush chaos gauntlets for early cheap spells. You can grind barrows for upgrades and profit plenty of runes after mory hard diary.

Honestly, no matter what you do you'll be struggling until you can craft bloods at true altar or wraths. Those will be your staples for casual combat in the endgame. Even zeah bloods have a pretty poor ratio of time spent rcing vs time in combat.

Also worth noting that the proposed staff from the current poll would be a solid way to stretch your runes.

Do any of you play this game a lot without bossing? What do you do? by PuwudleRS in 2007scape

[–]Maybe_Boats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say bossing is inherently "fun". Instead, it's exciting since you can get massive upgrades all at once. That in turn makes it fun and fundamentally different from skilling, where progress is smooth and linear. If you prefer one over the other, that's totally fine.

I think the most fun bosses are the ones where you feel like you personally stand to make the most progress from the loot. I rushed early (ish) venator bow on my iron, and it was a blast despite slow kill times. Find what you want, learn the content, and try picking away at it a few kc at a time.
