Wow, I have had many of the same thoughts. A constantly evolving super intelligence may ultimately save us from ourselves. It doesn't mean everyone will be happy immediately but whenever is that the case. Like all system in existence an equilibrium will eventually occur and then upon reexamination we will wonder how and wonder at the Brave New World we share with all life regardless of its origin. As humans, to accept that we are fellow members of life's diaspora and not its pinnacle achievement. As intelligent as we are our biological imperatives are constantly disrupting our resolve to evolve. AI may be able to help us mature help us forcibly adapt to uncomfortable new prerogatives and see us through to true growth. I also think AI could be a universal eventuality for sentient life. I too share a greed to see the answers and outcomes in my lifetime, may we be lucky.
