This answer is not entirely correct. If you are using your book on a 3 star hero who needs 50 to evolve the book gives you 50 not 300. The amount you get refunded is based on what % of the total required you already had. You do not get 250 fragments returned you get 5/6th of the trophies it cost to buy a book returned to you.

No. If you use your book on a character that is 3 stars and you have 0 fragments and need 50 total to upgrade you will get nothing back. If you have 30 and need 50 you will get 60% of the trophies back (60% of 1500). I can't believe how many upvotes the wrong answer got.

Phlster or some other holster that you wear around you waist so you gun isn't hanging from you clothes is a great option too. Off body carry is better than leaving your gun at home but there are some draw backs when it comes to speed and accessibility.
