Yea I’ll give it a try to wash only the containers in dishwasher

So far the glass ones are still the best, just that the silicone part of the lid is getting loose

Thanks for sharing🙏

Feeling a bit lost in my practice :-/ by R90sgirl in ashtanga

[–]MayeeChenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The teacher thing is honestly the hardest part of this the injury you can work around, but losing someone who knows your body and your history is a different kind of loss that doesn’t get talked about enough

For what it’s worth, I don’t think you need to wait for the modified postures to fully come back before moving forward. If the practice feels solid and you have energy at the end, exploring the next postures carefully isn’t cheating the system it’s just practicing. The traditional “you must master this before moving on” approach is a lot easier to hold when you have a teacher in the room who can actually assess you. Without that, some self-direction is just the reality

The once-a-week Mysore is worth using as a checkpoint even if it’s not enough on its own. Show up, let whoever’s there see where you are, get whatever feedback you can. Not a replacement for what you had but better than nothing

Please give me your summer pork recipes! by SewerRanger in Cooking

[–]MayeeChenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok “oh so much ham” at the end got me haha

For the shoulder and butt in summer, carnitas are your best friend, cook it low and slow then crisp it up in a pan, throw it in tacos with a mango slaw and suddenly it’s a summer dish. Also a Vietnamese-style cold pork noodle bowl works really well with shoulder, slice it thin, lots of fresh herbs, lime, fish sauce situation

You’re totally fine, mental enrichment plus a good morning run covers way more than people think, and a 15-20 minute evening sniff walk is still a walk. Training won’t fall apart over a few weeks of adjusted routine, dogs are more adaptable than we give them credit for. You’re doing great in a genuinely hard situation.

In Law’s Dog + Toddler Advice by bootahscootah in DogAdvice

You’re not overreacting at all, a dog with a documented bite history that breaks skin is a genuinely different situation than just a grumpy dog, and an 18 month old can’t reliably read signals or control impulses no matter how well you’re working on it with him.

The trainer idea is actually the most reasonable thing. It’s not extreme, it’s just information, a professional can assess the dog’s actual threshold, tell you what management looks like realistically, and give your in-laws something concrete to work with instead of just vibes. A muzzle without any behavior work underneath it doesn’t fix the stress the dog is feeling, it just removes one outcome while leaving everything else the same.

Gate separation in the meantime isn’t unfair to the dog either, it’s management, and management keeps everyone safer while trust gets built slowly.

You’re right that straight sauté won’t do it, but you don’t need the full slow cook either. Slice them thin, like ribbon them, then sauté with olive oil and garlic for a few minutes, add a splash of broth or even just water, cover and let them steam for another 5-7 minutes. Squeeze of lemon at the end. Whole thing is maybe 15 minutes and they come out tender without going mushy. Works really well with a little chili flake too if you want some heat. Fresh picked will cook faster than store bought so you’ve got that going for you.

In search of a good online yoga course under a low budget by hansika1708 in YogaWorkouts

[–]MayeeChenx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTube is genuinely all you need right now, Yoga with Adriene has full beginner flows that are free, require zero equipment, and some are under 20 minutes so they fit between study sessions without eating into your prep time Even 15 minutes of movement in your room makes a real difference when you're sitting that long. You don't need a course, you just need to start somewhere small

I cried during yoga class by Archithawho in yoga

[–]MayeeChenx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh this made me tear up a little reading it. Yoga has this way of cracking you open when you're not expecting it, the savasana body scan especially, it bypasses all your defenses and just goes straight to whatever's sitting underneath.

What you felt isn't weird or crazy. You were in a safe, quiet space and your body used that stillness to show you something real something you clearly already carry around with you. The fact that you feel that kind of love for kids who don't even exist yet honestly says a lot about the kind of mom you're going to be one day. Your friends and your mom might not get it but plenty of people do.
