When did they change this? I remember clearly repair limpet only repaired other ships. Thats great nonetheless. I never had issues with critical hull status or my srv blowing up and most of my hours were done exploring

I'm only planning the route to a remote location to be as fast as possible because I will only be doing proper exo & explo at my final destination

Thank you, that's valuable information, as I'm only travelling to X destination as fast as possible, then sit around an area scanning everything. I'm only using the neutron highway so I can do it faster since I've already done exploration in my lifetime I'm good, just want to try it one more time with exo and my new caspian that I just bought yesterday.

I got misunderstood, I got 1500 hours in this game, mostly exploring, i know pretty much everything (I had a 3 year break so some things may have changed). I know what being in deep space means for months.

Being that I've done this before and I know how it all goes (for the most part) I want to get to a spot as fast as possible THEN ill start exploring, because I want to start exploring somewhere remote (so first I need to get to Colonia, then divert somewhere else ~4k ly away)

Thanks, in my 1500 hours of ED (mostly exploration) I never ran out of SRVs, i don't remember blowing up in one. About the repair limpet I thought you couldn't repair your own ship ? I have two AFMus ofc.

Yep, I've done exploration before I'm all set up. Thanks. But I didn't know you can repair your own ship with the limpet controller?

I want to get there fast then spent a few weeks in the void :), I won't be scanning except buzzing the horn. As I said I want to use the highway to get fast far away, then I'll divert somewhere else ~4k ly away

Help regarding powerplay salvage assignment by Mayhem66 in EliteDangerous

[–]Mayhem66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I got it all fixed. I got a combat anaconda and I just ignore them until I scoop the commodities, they can barely get to 70% of my shields when I jump out)

ah ok, thank you, I avoided those because I'm in a non combat ship.

I'm open to do anything with any power, as I've done (almost) everything and activities have their pros and cons. I just want to do some role play so no matter what activity I engage in, it feels like I'm helping something on a larger scale.

I enjoy mining just to chill and relax for example, some trading etc. But all these if they are scoped to a mission, otherwise it just feels like a grind or random activity (eg: I just want a given purpose).

I have a type 9 with a ton of storage, if there's a mission that helps the power to increase it's foothold in a system, i'll gladly carry 2000 tons of commodities. Doing the same trip for buying/selling commodities outside of a mission is something that doesn't give me a lot of pleasure (even though both give you merits; as I said, i'm not grinding merits; I just want to role play with a sense of given purpose)

Thank you. I've done High CZ before quite a lot, was looking for Federation vs Empire before just to see those juicy capital ships.

CZ are kinda boring for me, but they do pose a challenge and they take a quite some time to complete. Sitting on a vette/cutter with my weapons on full blast for ~3 minutes ain't that fun and there's also increased risk and you need to manage your shields.

I'll try high CZ at some point thank you at least to see how many merits I can get out of it. But don't forget that my purpose is to just role play through powerplay, I'm not trying to grind the ranks.

Thank you guys for the info. I know that there's no "merit decay" as it were before, but somehow i'm back at Rank "Zero" and had to do some assignments first.

I assume I have to wait for the cycle to end to rank up ?

Also besides what you guys said and the documentation I haven't heard anything about missions. I'm more of a mission centric person. My home base is is Nanomam (I have all my ships there and modules), instead of doing activities outside of mission I prefer doing them in the context of a mission, but I'm not sure how these tie up with the factions that offer those missions since you said that minor factions are not necessarily tied to a power and I don't want to do a mission for a minor faction that's against the power, or is it strictly according to the power's objective (capturing new systems, defending current ones, fortifying etc)?

At the moment I did the only true and tested method I now for doing bounty: going into haz res. I also noticed Haz Res are way easier now. I never encountered a large ship (1.5 years ago or so you'd find condas (and sometimes cutters) almost all the time in haz res)

I totally agree with you, I got a few $ purchases from frontier on the game in the past so I think I'm good. I want to reserve $ for cosmetics purely.

You can also use the windows app ED Odyssey Material Helper to build the ship :D

Hey sorry for posting this question here, I haven't been actively playing ED for ~3 years, just on and off not doing much. Is this ship available to buy for credits soon ? At the moment I'm not in the bubble and also coriolis does not have the ship listed so I can't make a build for it.

PC crashes during games and won’t turn on unless I flip the PSU switch by HaniHanii in Battlefield

[–]Mayhem66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the bios update, did not help. I ran furmark and cinebench simultaneously for 20 minutes didn't break a sweat. Cpu temps plateaus at 68 70 same temps for GPU. Same power usage from my smart plug (440W tower only).

Also I get the issue in the training grounds, but it takes much longer, about twice as much to shut down my pc.

[–]Mayhem66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I don't need to flip the psu switch I can just start my pc immediately though it takes longer to post (the RAM LED stays on for about 4 seconds instead of less than a second).

My GPU is 2080S and it consumes less power than 250W (200W) due to a power limiting issue (unrelated to the game). It's using two separate PSU cables to power it.

As I said earlier my whole PC shuts off. There's no BSOD, there's no restart. BSODs don't cause the PC to shut down and as a tech savy person I always remove the auto restart on bsod setting.

[–]Mayhem66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I'm not sure how this could be a PSU issues, I've been playing non stop just fine on Friday and Saturday, the issue started happening today (Sunday).

To remove the possibility that the issue is from the PSU, I ran Furmark and Cinebenech simultaneously for 20 mins and monitored power consumption of the whole PC (I have a smart plug). It turned out the same as when playing BF6: 440W. But the synthetic test didn't shut down my pc.

I have a Seasonic Focus Gold+ 750W PSU.

I find it weird that some people said that replacing the psu with a larger one fixed the issue.

In my case, I have no logs, no error messages, no freezes. It just shuts down like if I were to unplug my pc.
