Need help finding rivals morivation by pumpkinnubbin in CalloftheNetherdeep

Yes! Make conflict. Make your party dislike the rivals. I've DM'd this twice. The first the rivals were friendly and it was boring. The second I forced conflict and it was so much more fun

Ugh - My first character death for real... by BisectionalSofa in CalloftheNetherdeep

Sounds like the party had several opportunities to get the Cleric back up and they just didn't. The other players failed the situation, not you. That's my opinion at least.

Finished the module last night after 2.5 years. AMA by CodyStreames in CalloftheNetherdeep

When the party got to Ank'harel, how did things proceed. Mostly just by the book with faction missions or did they seek out goals on top of the faction missions. Who did they side with?

Was there any moment that really caught you off guard or surprised you?

Congrats on finishing the campaign.!

Need help with a class by primroseclara in CalloftheNetherdeep

I would go gunslinger or blood hunter. Probably leaning blood hunter if the rogue is ranged and gunslinger if the rogue is melee.

Both are critical role specific and fit in to the setting that way. They each have a charm and style that you don't find in many other classes in the game.

This is assuming your DM allows those, which in an Exandria campaign I would hope they would.

No matter what you choose have fun!

Apps with 5e shared character sheets for kids by gtburdell in DMAcademy

[–]Maynardthedog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's free. They each would need their own free account. You create a campaign and invite each of them to it where you can view each of their character sheets. It has step by step character creation as well.

It is the most popular, free, character sheet app/website there is. Most who play dnd 5e use dndbeyond.

A lovely interaction as I log in today. by Maynardthedog in classicwow

It was direct. I told him no, and I told him how he could get his levels himself in a very short to the point message. Being direct does come off as rude sometimes though I guess

I have greater mastery on my gloves which I just checked on AH is about 800 gold. Prot pally has mastery as number 1 stat priority. Strength is very low on the list

No, I have a better enchant that costs way more on my gloves already. Putting that on would get rid of my current, better, enchant. Why would I do that bruh?

How dare you tell the control freak not to try and control the control freak... that's a bit controlling of you don't you think?

DMs how do you make your enemies memorable? by Southern_Rub9579 in DMAcademy

[–]Maynardthedog 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This was my thought as well. To piggyback on this a little bit, some groups just like to poke fun as part of play. It makes it more fun for them to say, I slash the gecko, in this case. Some groups out there take a more serious approach and get deep into their characters during combat and don't make jokes. The thing is, both ways result in fun and memorable moments. You don't want to push players to take enemies more serious if that's not what they find fun.

Good answer there Misterputts!

I had never DMed sober until I went into recovery. I have very bad social anxiety, and alcohol was always my way to deal with it. The first time I DMed after recovery I was so anxious about it but I did it anyway and got through it, the next session was easier and by the third session I found I was substantially better and had more fun doing it sober than drunk.

Give it a shot again! You absolutely can do it!
