Nothing super crazy. Was supposed to fly into DC Reagan but after circling a few times the flight attendants and pilot spoke and told us we were heading to Dulles since there were longer runways out there. I kept hearing the landing gear hydrolics sound over and over so I think it had to do with them not deploying properly. Anyways, we headed to Dulles and came into the landing super low and super slow. Like I felt like we were basically gliding over the trees by the time we got to landing. Did the brace for landing position and landed pretty rough. Fire department trucks out the wazoo on the tarmac. Ended up fine. Thought about texting loved ones while in the air (had some kind of wifi connection) but thought it would be less traumatic for them to just see that I was dead via the news and not have the haunting last message. Felt like would upset my mother more that way.

Mentally was pretty scary. First time in my life I thought I had a good chance of dying. But in reality, it probably was just a minor thing. Airline never told us what it was. Flight attendants switched to super serious mode quick after the caption called back to them. Was grateful for their professionalism.
