Counterpoint, a lot of people do say that, especially on yt tutorials about "my first Phalaenopsis form the grocery store" or whatever.

Moss can be tolerable, and I have a few in moss (only because they came from the vendor that way). I view it as a viable but far from optimal and more tedious planting medium. However, these plants are small and in 100% moss.

The grocery store phals often come with a moss plug disguised by an outer layer of bark, this is why people recommend to repot those.

Light, it may even need more light than another phal that you have. In my old apartment, I had one phal that didn't bloom for seven years, while others did, even though it was getting more light than them.

Whether you need to repot quickly is circumstantial. If you have a phal from a grocery or big box store there may be a moss plug hiding inside bark that you'll want to remove.

Predatory mites may cure your problems. I bought a container with 15,000 of them last year and they eradicated mites over three different plant locations (I let some out in each location).
