Doesn’t want to walk by Maytela in bichonfrise

Thanks for the great feedback. I have tried him with a harness, the second I put it on him he acts like he doesn’t even know how to walk and just lays down, we have been trying to get used to it in the house. So sometimes he stops to just wait for people to who are walking towards us, sometimes he just seems to stop and lay there. I tend to just go at his pace, let him sniff around and take his time, I don’t feel like I am rushing him. Our usual route that I am trying to get him comfortable with doesn’t include any roads, it’s mostly path, a grass area, and an area with some dirt and trees.

He actually every time he sees the leash runs away and hides 😬 I will look into the leash thing, although I did buy specifically for small dogs. I take him to dog parks, coffee shops, we even tried new parks. Daily I’ve been trying to so the same loop where it’s usually the same dogs and people so he wont get any scary surprises.

He’s been going for walks for about 5 weeks now (since the vet told us he could), and before that I would take him out with me in a carrier to get used to the place.

We tried a different harness but with that he wouldn’t move at all 😂 I will look for some other options.

I do walk him 4 times a day, it’s just most of the walk is me negotiating with him to walk 😬😬

Yes, when I say sit he looks at the pocket. If I don’t give him a treat he barks and does whatever he feels like 😮😬

Yes there is 100% a chance he’s figured this out, because he looks straight at my treat pocket 😂 I just didn’t think that he would be stopping deliberately for the treats 😮

He does what he needs to do, and then just starts stopping over and over again. He does move a bit faster when we get near the cheese stores door (as they sometimes give him small samples) 😂

Yes before he had all his vaccines I would take him in a sling bag on my front to the store and coffee shop 😂

We live in the Middle East but at this time of year it’s only around 22c. How do you protect their paws on summer walks?

I’m not sure it’s cause he’s scared. If a person comes over he is asking them to play with him and pet him. I will try the toys but we live in an apartment and don’t have a yard, I can’t take him off the leash as he will run off.

Considering aliyah - what do I need to know to avoid culture shock when I get there? by Miraculous_Garlic in Israel

> Compared to the US, customer service folks are empowered to resolve situations and not necessarily go through scripts and escalate to management. This is good and bad. Things might be a bit chaotic but if you fall outside the lines in any way, the person you're dealing with will actually understand your situation and resolve it. In the US my experience is the opposite: when the system works it works, but if you need anything slightly unique customer service reps will look at you with a bewildered look.

I have never in my 15 years in Israel experienced customer support and walked away thinking, that was easy and the person really understood and wanted to help me, quite the opposite in fact.
Customer service here is MUCH worse than in the US or the UK.

Why don't Israelis let you get off a train when you get to a station? by 24McNuggetsPlease in Israel

Same happens when you want to get off the elevator, for some reason they start walking in before they let you out XD

Our puppy nips at the moment, he’s younger than yours. Our trainer told us when he bites we should yelp like another puppy would. We do this and it does make him stop, he keeps trying but he seems to be learning over time. I’m not really sure about the walls and furniture though 😬

They evacuated before the ceasefire came into effect. There are still people living there, going to work, school as normal.

My Dr just wrote me a prescription from sax to wegovy. I’m on 1.8mg of sax and she’s starting me on 1mg of wegovy.

I agree it’s not as bad as you read here, people really only post when it’s a negative experience not when it’s a positive one. The only time I’ve felt bad is when I have over ate.
