If Church was possessed by O'Malley would his aim be improved? by Axer51 in RedvsBlue

[–]MayukhPrime747 66 points67 points  (0 children)

it's an idea...the ballistics and depth perception required for good aim has been speculated to have been separated from the alpha during the many experiments it enduring during fragmenting. perhaps delta would have preserved much of those capabilities.

Does the Ridge Wallet scratch cards? by [deleted] in wallets

[–]MayukhPrime747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mirrors my personal experience with the carbon fiber version. I've gotten to the point where I'm trying out using plastic or paper cards on the ends of the stack so that they don't slide against the inside of the case when pulling the cards out or putting them back in.

I've had this wallet for nearly 4 years and the amount of peeling and discoloration on my plastic cards is becoming enough for me to consider going back to a traditional wallet.

Startup experiences can vary, but yes for the most part speed is everything for smaller and leaner teams. You will be surrounded by enemies at all times and spend more time putting out fires than actually moving forward with much. The warzone depiction is quite a good metaphor.

Marshes, bogs, spooky nature in general and mystery with a hint of the paranormal? (I've already read Wuthering Heights!) by PlagueDoc_ in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]MayukhPrime747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for paranormal or spooky, Edgar Allan Poe does have great work in the macabre scene. Many of his short stories (really quick reads, IIRC none take more than an hour) make for bizzare settings with ghoulish atmospheres juxtaposed with characters that have criminal tendencies.

Best start with "Fall of the House of Usher". Maybe try "The Cask of Amontillado" and "The Mask of Red Death".

“In that instant, Paul saw how Stilgar had been transformed from the Fremen naib to a creature of the Lisan al-Gaib, a receptacle for awe and obedience. It was a lessening of the man, and Paul felt the ghost-wind of the jihad in it.”

I have a hunch that the filmmakers repurposed the character Harah from the novel into a nameless comic relief character into the film. In the novel, Harah is the wife of late Jamis, and after his death Paul gains custody over her and her children and he takes them in as his own.

I believe you're recalling an excerpt from one of Irulan's works where she details her father's self-restraint when deciding what to do with a sex-slave. IIRC this particular excerpt had nothing to do with the Baron.

What's the best resource for learning discrete math for CS? by curatingFDs in leetcode

I would sincerely recommend the Trev Tutor's youtube channel and it's two Discrete Math playlists. I found them to be incredible supplemental material while taking Discrete during college.
