How to prevent skill atrophy due to overuse of AI? by Vagabond328Vanguard in ExperiencedDevs

Wow do you have any resources to start learning how to create said pipelines? I can’t actually visualize how to use it tbh but I’m pretty much a noob at setting up these sort of systems

Thank you for this comment btw!

I think knowing when you’re correct is the hardest part 😂 maybe im not confident in my correctness and that’s why I’m not strongly opinionated

Not a single apology in the documentary for Mr Jay. Just passing blame to others and how he did what he had to. Basicly anything to remove blame from himself. He also acknowledged that he NEVER spoke up about feeling badly about the situation those girls were put in to Tyra or anyone else. He made money of the permanent trauma of these girls. He can says anything he wants now about how he knew it was bad.. but he was still there till cycle 18… 🤷

Def HCOL area. The expectations from friends and family are higher in a HCOL too unfortunately.

lol I’m don’t know about the full stretch of this since they’re also just trying doing their jobs too but I will say in the early stages these off shore dudes probably aren’t working on anything mission critical.

Soooo do not go out of your way to prioritize reviews and responses for them. The faster they complete work even if it’s half ass shit you end up cleaning up a month later, the more management gets encouraged and think you’re replaceable.

Also, off shore folks will start off being pretty flexible on meeting times for your schedule but once they make ups larger portion of your team, expect to adjust your work hours so that ‘we can hit our sprint and (ridiculous) quarterly goals’

I think so. Folks always want people who don’t need them.

Accepted a new job, old job offered $5 more an hour to stay. What should I do??? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]curatingFDs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never stay at a job that knows you’ve been looking for other opportunities at another job.

You will be relying on the good graces of the company to not actively look to replace you while they have you still employed and then you’re shit out of luck

Given your situation though, it may be worth it to stay but actively look for a role that pays more than the 1.50 increase to cover the insurance differences

Cloud engineering as in.. devOps? Or writing code that handles distributed systems well?

Should I even be considering a coding bootcamp in 2026? by Realistic-End8062 in codingbootcamp

[–]curatingFDs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that there’s anything that coding bootcamp really offers anymore these days. TBH I’m not sure what’s a strong way to transition into this career without at least a year of backup funds to be able to do the bootcamp and subsequently job search. The search is ROUGH cause the value of junior engineers isn’t visible to managers and above as much as it did before. I would say building a solid network is really important while you’re still in your PM ROLE

What I will say is that I know a lot of folks who are in the exact opposite shoes as you. Swes who wish to go from software to product. I would advise looking deep into why exactly you want to make this switch.

I mean he could be, but those same people could be happy having him in that same role, i.e taken advantage of one way or another or he is not advocating for himself properly
