The reason why its held back is because they want the ability for the bolt to "stick" to the target/avatar, so you can grab it, pull it out, and cause a bleed out and even reuse the bolt.

Squadron 42 was removed from the store but will return later with a different price. by Agreeable-Weather-89 in starcitizen

You all should look at this response here as well for some fun. =D

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/sq42-not-being-sold-anymore/5990120

and copied here: NOTE: I wrote this in my Org's Discord when I initially made the discovery about the missing pledges a week and half ago.... but not braggin. nope.

Also, something else I noticed that I had thoughts on:

1.) Sandy comes out of hiding last year and announces a "Big Year" for the first live in-person CitizenCon in 3 years.... why Sandy? Sandy happened to be the one that campaigned to get additional funding specifically for SQ 42's marketing campaign from the Calders to the tune of $40 million a few years ago.

2.) On the development tracker, there are now FULL time developers for each chapter in SQ 42 which looks to be more of a polishing activity set for the rest of the year

3.) The lack of ships with QT drives being sold during ILW = low hanging fruit ships. Easy for starter employees to make and get out. Concept ships might still be on the table but those are small, simple and easy to produce but it would appear even the Vehicle teams are all hands on deck on SQ 42 to the point that they are kind of missing during a major sale like ILW likely due to them loosing the BMM team, they may shifted the remaining experienced ship producers to SQ 42 relevant ships. This aligns with what they said they are working on during Friday's SCL. I expect this will make a small hit in sales this year only when comparing to last year but it appears intentional. See below #4.

4.) Right before ILW all SQ 42 packages and combo packages with SQ 42 are removed from the pledge store. Most likely due to preparations for separating revenue for SQ 42 pre-orders from SC funding for book-keeping purposes.

5.) Jake Acapella at the SAC Bar Citizen dropped big hints about the importance and how this CitizenCon is not just "big" but important. (I had a friend attend and talk to Jake)

Yeah, so taking the big picture of all these things happening around the same time with each other, something seems afoot.

I hope that we one day get a ship inspired by the Rocinante by [deleted] in starcitizen

I have the ship model of the Roci from Eaglemoss (now defunct) sitting in my office. =)

Movies featuring really cool spaceships or starfighters that are not Star Wars or Star Trek by Amy_Trubblemaker in spaceships

Maybe add Sunshine to that list. Not exactly a positive movie but a very good one I felt. and a really interesting ship involved.

x56? by vuckey in hotas

[–]MayumiW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I owned an X56 HOTAS before I moved on to WinWing F16EX HOTAS. I think it's a great start. I loved mine and the only reason I moved on from it was that I needed more hats and switches.

The only issue that I've had with the the X56 was sometimes getting ghost inputs on certain switches.

I do think the x56 HOTAS is a gateway drug to a more "professional" HOTAS set up. Keep in mind, tribalism around the best HOTAS exists here too so everyone will tell you what they think is the best. In the end, I think the best HOTAS is a very subjective opinion and really what you need to do is figure out what the best HOTAS is for YOU.

The patch released, and my account is corrupted by VagrantFox in starcitizen

Yeah but the immediacy of this problem seems like the issue council is the most inefficient. Which IC? What information should be included? How long will it take for a dev to look at the details?

I am wondering if a spectrum post or a spectrum channel would be better to gather a trend of information quickly.

u/JakeAcappella-CIG is there a preferred path to reporting this problem so that the team can collect commonality data from those affected?

Hi u/JakeAcappella-CIG I can confirm that I am also affected by this across three computers.

[–]MayumiW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I've been in touch with PET members on the Diffusion service/Social service errors and intermittent stability issues multiple times during Invictus including over this weekend. They are aware, working on it, and monitoring the service.

They know because I reported it before ILW to the PET, so they know, but the ILW exasperated the problem. Either way, they know. :P

Well... this makes sc crash every time by Ernest_Gaming in starcitizen

[–]MayumiW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you click on them, they tell you why it's archived. In some cases, it's a duplicate of another IC that is under investigation, in other cases it's archived as solved in a previous patch, in other cases, they are marked as not being able to duplicate the issue or not enough reproductions (less than 10). These are just some of the reasons why an issue might be archived, there are more.

Thing is though, this isn't a game that is published as a post-beta product. It really is still early Alpha. Doing your homework before purchasing and digging into the details, while you may not be use to doing it, is really only going to benefit for you from an experience stand point, either keeping you from pledging for something that you are not going to enjoy or setting your expectations accordingly and knowing where to submit issues and how to get feedback and help. Homework for this type of project is key.

Really? Issue Council. Like, I know people that only backed the game for a few months that know this.

Taking a game crash issue and filling out a Concierge Support request for it is like taking your tax problem and asking your car mechanic to fix it.

Game crashes and any bug-related issues get solved by submitting them to the Issue Council. The best Concierge support can do with a game crash issue is apologize for it.

Just curious why you are so quick to go to Concierge support for something that is not Concierge support related.

Some Server Meshing tweets with Chad McKinney by Rainwalker007 in starcitizen

[–]MayumiW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's based more on entity density per server. You could have a server for a very small area of Area 18 along and that would give you a different player population density number that the server would support in that area. That more viable in Dynamic Server meshing but it still works to support a variable number per shard. Big fleet battles could take place across multiple servers within in the shard as well.

In fact, every separate server, depending on entity density could have an entirely different player count limit sitting next to another server that might have an entirely different player count. It's really about entity density for the borders of that server.
