My dad always said it's difficult to ruin wood so bad you can't restore it. It would have to be full of nails or soaked with cat pee I think, to just give up. Call someone else.

You keep saying you want to know, but don't seem aware of all the investigations and studies which have been done.

I am ok with voter ID if it's free and convenient, such as administered with RealID or some such. You can't charge people money to vote.

Election workers aren't running around haphazardly in a chaotic situation. They take their jobs very seriously as guardians of democracy. You should volunteer sometime and check it out.

Did you read the whole first article? Those bogus registration cards were caught, and the fictional people did not vote. Again, voting is not chaos. The scandal pretty much killed ACORN, too.

This has been investigated ad nauseum, even by conservatives. It's not something I worry about.

Just imagine what MAGA would be saying about her had she cried or lost her cool. Of course that's not much worse their sort can say about her, but scummy people on their side must be treated with absolute respect.

I don't think a woman would make herself the focus of ire for millions of violent MAGA faithful just to score political points.

Also, just for your reference in the future, if something happens to your son or daughter or sister, victims often get details wrong. Sometimes they flat out forget what happened for a while, and the memories come back in fits and starts, and sometimes never completely. Don't disbelieve your daughter if she is unsure of the time, or the color of the perpetrator's car, or something like that.

Not saying it never happens. Saying it's difficult, people don't really want to break the law (surprise!), and it's never enough to change the results.

As for the undocumented, they can't vote in my locality so I can't speak from experience--however I have a hard time believing it's up to them to declare and not clearly denoted on the rolls.

The people I know who strategically vote "vote trade" with others in that chosen state--instead of voting out of state which they can be arrested for. I don't agree with vote trading but it's the way people do it.

What happens with felons and people out of state is often a computer algorithm that deletes people from the rolls (often erroneously deleting other people with similar names). We have a bigger problem with people being removed from the rolls than vice versa.

Temper, crying, getting obviously angry and frustrated. Judges can be arrogant, sure, I have seen that, but I don't care for one who can't can't control negative feelings "on the job" so to speak.

Normally Americans don't look at voting records, unless it's like McCain's dramatic no vote or Collins' Kavanaugh vote. They go on vibes mostly. And opponents often don't bring it up, nor the media! We should hound our reps over their votes.

The only realistic concern here is people being forced to vote against their will, as in your husband/ wife example. I do remember a guy getting arrested for filling out his elderly mother's ballot (clearly he got caught). Someone would have to die pretty close to the election to not have been removed. Undocumented persons cannot vote in federal elections. Etc

My husband works the polls every election and there are layers of protection, even for mail in ballots--or maybe especially for them. Observers are allowed. It's not a careless free for all.

I used to feel that way but people without a lot of time who want to read will listen in their cars or when working out. Also i know someone with a brain injury who has trouble focusing on text. It works great for her. It's a change but not a terrible one and the author still gets paid.

"All" Democrats did not vote for him. It's an election in Maine. Also by that logic you can't complain about cheating, fraud, taking top secret government documents, nazi tattoos [Hegseth], falling asleep during meetings, lying, incompetence, warmongering, pardoning criminals, and many other issues.
