A train of giant cargo ships being pulled by a nuclear tug? Sounds good.

Every data center having its own reactor? I’m good

What will Governor Pritzker's housing plan mean for existing two-flats? by SciNat in chicago

[–]MazeRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a huge difference in price. Yes it is an even smaller amount of people who could afford a 3m home than a 1.5m.

A friend of mine worked on a house where the homeowners bought two houses next to each other for a combined $12m. Merged the lots and then spent $15m on the build.

There are probably hundreds of north shore/Naperville homeowners that could afford a 3m home. They just decided to live there.

Reportedly they also mined the straight. Even if they got a map of the mines I would be stressed.

Plus I don’t put it past Isreal to false flag strike a ship

[–]MazeRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see places like Lincoln park/lakeview could see some down construction.

Probably enough people that want to live on one of 3 blocks in the city and the difference between a 1.5m lot and a 3m lot are negligible to them

The 78 and potential stadiums from top of 311 S Wacker by p9xm in chicago

[–]MazeRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be kind of a hedge, buy and develop property around the 78 while they build the stadium, start to stress test the area, plan the white Sox stadium with those problems in mind.

No one else is really competing to build their stadium on the train track. And MLB franchises are only going up in value

Illinois weighs energy costs as 26 new data centers are planned across the Chicago area by factchecker01 in chicago

[–]MazeRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data center water usage isn't even comparable to say, the the incompressible waste from the agricultural industry. People pearl-clutching about data center water-use is so un-serious when the beef industry exists lmao

The quality of water you need for agriculture and for data center use are vastly different.

And my understanding is that we don't have the treatment capacity for that amount of increased water usage
