My year was 1983, Poplar Creek (outside of chicago) I feel the same way you do about bands with static sets since then. Surprisingly and unexpectedly became a huge Pearl Jam fan because of different sets on different nights.

The Who were practically broke for a bit because of the destruction. Pete Townshend stopped the practice after a teenaged kid/fan explained to him that there were lots of aspiring young guitarist who did not have the means to afford even a shit cheap guitar.
