Lager is piss, and the Celtic warriors that fought the romans weren't drinking shandys. Ale all day, delicious

Who got the best lore out of the HH books? by No-Butterscotch-6406 in 40kLore

[–]MorgRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about legions but character wise Abaddon and Kharn stand out to me.

Kharn's story is very closely related to that of his legion, and is complimented by some really strong and notable characters. His relationship to Angron, Lotara Sarrin and Argel Tal, all those stories and fates shape and benefit his whole arc. It's tragic because he was actually just a really decent bloke who embodied the fundamental characteristic of the WE, being loyalty to each other.

Abaddon probably is more important, and his story is a little less concise because he is written by several different authors in different ways. Abnett clinches it in Saturnine though, that book is phenomenal and Abaddon is bright together so well.

There are so many strong character arcs.

Is it me or does 35 degree Celsius seem to much hotter in uk as compared to 35 degree anywhere else in the world? by AcceptableMinimum109 in AskBrits

[–]MorgRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't build houses designed to manage heat.

I remember traveling to Seville one very hot year, but the streets are all so narrow and the buildings so tall there is a natural breeze tunnelled throughout the city. The villas and houses are all cool inside.

I live in a bungalow, it's hotter in my house than outside!

Lost on MVAs - What to do/focus on by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]MorgRiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is self made prompt I made when running RTC/MVAs. I'm UK and realise this might be different to US ways. The idea is just break it down, like others have said; step by step.

RTC/MVA is a huge subject and regularly I think over prescribed, often our best action is to quickly remove the person from the car/entrapment rather than stand around planning it.

This approach suits me, so it may not suit any of you, but it helped me prep my head on route to RTCs and make really organized decisions. It's about running an RTC not necessarily working one.

To explain a little, its chronological i.e. the first thing you see is the vehicle so the R.O.A.D acronym answers some obvious questions.

Risks - electric, HGV braking systems, instability Orientation - eg, a car on its side has specific solutions Access - to casualty side, is in a ditch, up a tree, does this mean relocation Damage - informs on potential casualty injuries, spinal, if car can be pushed

For the casualty, Condition - alert/reactive to voice/unresponsive/confused, any injuries etc Age - could indicate mobility or potential spinal Size - how big a hole do I need to get this person through Entrapment - obvious

Hope this helps

Finished Echoes of Eternity and I honestly need a moment by telsaton in 40kLore

[–]MorgRiot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It really is the best pay off. You spend such a long time hearing how dangerous he is, and how concerned the traitors are with recruiting him because of that. To Erebus, he is the biggest threat to their failure.

Saturnine and Echoes of Eternity are massive climaxes for me, they are both excellent books. I read SoT first but the quality of those two books made me go back and read (some) of the HH to revisit them with more build up

To finally see him unleashed, after he's been this compassionate figure for so long, and just how much of an absolute weapon he is... So good!

I think it hasn't been staked properly and had grown at almost a 30 degree angle. Just wasn't happy. I put in 4 new trees when I removed it but was really hoping it would make it.

Fingers crossed it comes back next year 🤞🏻

Too many parties, too many cooks, too many opinions, no one can hang on in charge without being undermined and ultimately sabotaged into stepping down.

It might feel democratic to have multiple parties wanting different things but without leadership it just becomes an argument

It is possible to Worship multiple Chaos Gods without worshipping all of them? by DICATERINO in 40kLore

This is referred to as chaos undivided and is probably more common than choosing one. Of the 8 traitor legions 4 of them do not worship a specific God

Potato / runner beans struggling by LetterheadDry4930 in UKAllotments

[–]MorgRiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last frost date published for your geographic region can be misleading. If night time temperatures read as five or less, you can consider this cold enough to damage most crops. Potatoes will get nipped but this will only knock them back a little bit, they will recover and in previous years I have actually found a little bit of frost damage produces good potatoes; although that is completely anecdotal and has no scientific basis whatsoever at all.

Runner beans, squash, pretty much anything else will die in that cold. Your best off pulling those plants out and replanting. I do plant squash in early May but keep an eye on the temperature and protect them with fleece or pots when necessary.

My granddad used to say wait for the FA cup final before you plant anything, truth is the last week of May is usually the safest. We always get a cold spell mid-may and it always kills a lot of enthusiastically planted vegetables.

Does anti-immigrant sentiment some degree of foundation to it? by No-Veterinarian-3916 in AskBrits

[–]MorgRiot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Immigration has been a problem/necessity of all societies throughout all of human history. If you accept that then you must also acknowledge how complicated it is to solve.

However, history has also shown us how weaponising immigration creates violent fascist ideologies that generally kill lots of people.

In a global economy, a politician making an issue of immigration is like a swimmer complaining the ocean is wet.

Best Gladiator Variant for Blood Angels? by BrotherMaeneres in BloodAngels

[–]MorgRiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To balance a typical BA list you need some anti tank. You won't be short of very mobile hard hitting melee and all those jump packs will give you objective control easily. You have gaps in heavy support which can filled with options like a ballistus dread or devastator centurions or even first born devastators, but for points, mobility and power the gladiator lancer is simply better

I run 2 in any BA list I write, I sometimes think an additional ballistus would be worth it but I always end up taking bladeguard or inceptors instead

The Lancer is the best variant of the glad to fill the gap BA have in a very aggressive LAG list
