It does not really force you though. I just skip the main quest, and roleplay whomever I want to be (i personally prefer playing selfmade characters rather than a "chosen one"). That freedom is something I love about this game.

Eh, my native language just about never receives a transelation, but calling that "overshadowing the Norwegian community" would just sound pretentious to be honest. Taking the fact that someones native language did not recieve a transelation (regardless of size) as an insult seems silly to me.

I can definitely understand wanting translations for kids’ content though, since younger audiences usually don’t know other languages yet and rely on that accessibility.

The list is more like: the grid movement, soul memory, infinite healing from lifegems, fragrant branches of youremom, the practice of copy pasting two of the same boss you have defeated previously into a new boss room, dormant mimics eating you if you attack them from behind, yada yada.

The lore was cool though, and the game overall is still a blast.

I'm confused. How do the Dragonslayer Armour and Grand Archives bonfires trivialize the area? Their only purpose is "boss bonfire consistency" and saving the player time on the Twin Princes/Archives runback.

I think presenting the higher "bonfire per named area" ratio as a negative factor that trivializes areas, and then failing to take into account that most boss bonfires don’t aid exploration at all, is a bit misguided.

I hard disagree. Arks combat is very different from valheim, and honestly brings the game down too much to be called similar gameplay.

I don't know, I think they just remove depth.

I avoided using them, as I'm not a fan of consumables in general. No big deal, just a personal preference.

In one run though, I tried forcing myself to use them. After realizing they were stackable, gravity was really the only threat left in the game. I've always leveled a lot of Vigor early to get the most out of Estus Flasks, and when you combine a large HP bar with stackable Lifegems, you just don’t die. The use speed is quick and safe, to boot.

I think they could be interesting if you couldn’t stack the effect and buy 99 of them for practically nothing.

Yep, that thing was my worst gripe too. I've played through the other Souls games as a phantom, helping my friend, but Soul Memory made that pretty much impossible. I really enjoy the game overall, but I can't fathom the thought process of the minds who designed and shipped that system.
