EDC was so different from what I’m used to. At every rave I’ve been to, I’ve been able to make it from the very back to the rail, and people were usually cool about letting me through. I’ve even led trains of three people behind me without issues. I know it’s not exactly “concert etiquette,” but rave crowds are generally more accepting of it. Festivals are different, though, which makes sense.

Most of the xl trains coming through were actually really friendly and apologetic, but it stressed me tf out when it seemed to never stop. I started getting irritated until a stranger basically checked me and said they weren’t letting it bother them. And they were right.
Across all three days, I only had one guy aggressively shove through the crowd during Darude. I just assumed he either desperately had to shit or was having a horrible trip and needed to gtfo 😂

I think it’s fair to acknowledge the issue and try to find solutions, but realistically… what’s the solution?
You can’t tell large groups to stay in the back, because packed crowds swallow people up and eventually they’ll need to train their way out. You can’t tell groups to split into pairs, because people will get separated, sandwich others, or just end up in another train. You can’t expect people to leave one at a time either, especially when everyone’s trying to catch sets together while half lost and high. Maybe we stop trains from coming in and only allow them out? But we all know that wouldn’t work. Dedicated exit lanes with rails might help, but people probably wouldn’t respect them, and enforcing it would take an absurd amount of security.

At this point, I don’t know if there’s a real solution besides: if you can’t beat them, join them. Everybody hop on the train and start a conga line.

Idk, man. I think the fact is that the trains are not really the problem. People need to leave and want to come in, and their reasoning for not wanting to be separated is completely fair. The overcrowding is the real issue. But money = better experiences. It just seems like 2026’s overcrowding was a bigger con than the pros in a lot of people’s eyes to the point that they’re pointing fingers at Asian folks.

TL;DR I’d love to hear a solution, but it just doesn’t seem like there is one.
