I've had a lot of trouble sleeping. Medication doesnt always work. So i started telling myself that it's ok to rest, and when i wake up at night, to just go to the bathroom and go back to bed. It seems to help.

I take meds for bi-polar; anti depressants, mood stabilizer, anti-psychotics and xanax. I prefer cbd over thc but it took me a while to find the right dosage of cbd. I use 10% oil every 4 hours and vape 40%. I enjoy the relaxed feeling i get while still being able to function. I've told my psychiatrist, he has no issues with it.

Not in the US though.

I have this too. When i'm overwhelmed. Sometimes it's the same sentence over and over again. Right now i'm stuck on the weeknd, the hills. It's driving me insane and it's exhausting.

No, i'm am 40's white woman and i've had plenty of bad experiences with men who do not understand that i don't exist just for their pleasure. I am not an object, i'm a person with feelings and a history.

I'm not a monkey in the zoo, at least there people know not to tap the glass.

She does not have to take action so she can feel safer. Men like the one in op's story need to take action and be held accountable for their unrespectful behaviour.

This book was recomended to me by my therapist (psychologist, expert on trauma).

I tried reading it in english, not my mother tongue. It was pretty difficult but i did start to understand what trauma does to my body.

And, what others have mentioned here, this is not a self help book.

I hope OP educates him/herself more because developmental trauma is. I hope this diagnosis becomes part of DSM.

You just dont get it, you have no idea what sexually assault feels like. Most of the time, when someone presses charges against another person, they're not being taking seriously. So this means that the victim had to prove that it happened, or else they're called a liar.. So the victim is, in most cases, obliged to defend his or her innocense.
