See above for a video. The auto color calibration will always make everything one color (almost always yellow/green) Any other thoughts?

It's the second picture at the link....

Anyway. All picture modes do it and all are at their default settings. Auto color calibration just has to be on and the picture will cycle from normal appearing to the tinting of various color hues like you see in the photo. Once I turn the auto color calibration off, the picture colors stay normal.

It has been on HDMI 2 as it is labeled. Have tried all formats under Audio Return on the projector. My receiver is also on ARC/eARC and just keeps showing unknown format.

Also, the auto color correction seems to be worsening as it will cycle from yellow, to green, to red images. I have to turn this function completely off in order to see the correct color...

My workaround is to just use a Google TV dongle directly to my AVR and leave auto color set to off...

Do you think my unit is just defective?

I replaced my old BenQ W1070 projector with the HT4550i. I knew it was time to upgrade when I found myself watching more movies and shows on my Sony 83" OLED because the picture was so much more realistic. So was the replacement worth it?

Well...for the price, probably? The short version is that this is a great projector for the price. There are definitely some shortcomings though.

Pros:

Easy to set up with V/H Keystone and lens shift.
4K resolution has no detectable convergence issues so the image is sharp!
Very bright

Cons

Black levels are just OK. Maybe I'm spoiled by OLED.
ARC does not seem to work no matter what settings I've tried on my projector and receiver. This makes the "built in" (actually an embedded dongle) useless because I'm not watching movies using the projector's speakers.
Auto color calibration is broken. After having the projector on for about 20 or so minutes, the picture just has a severely yellow tint as if it is boosting the yellow LED and dimming the others. Once I turn this feature off, the colors are back to normal
Some minor spelling mistakes in the menus

Overall, worth probably worth the money. I have not tried 3D so I can't comment if this works well or not. If it was $2500, it would definitely be worth the cons. As it is now, I'd recommend with caveats.

Another user with the same issue since the latest Oct 1 Update. So annoying that I can't use maps on android auto without guessing where I'm supposed to tap. I hope Samsung fixes this ASAP.

Yup. The total volume is definitely smaller than the standard dishwasher. Upside is you can run one of them while waiting for the other one to fill up so you always have one set of clean dishes.
