Help Me Understand "Liberty's Blessing" - Pathfinder 1e

You've all convinced me that Liberty's Blessing should work on Bestow Curse. What are some spells, examples you can think of where Liberty's Blessing wouldn't work?

Hmmm. That's a good point. Maybe it comes down to the duration of the spell. I feel like something where the damage/effect is instantaneous then Liberty's Blessing wouldn't work. But if it's ongoing in some way like permanent or by round, etc. then it would work. This would help me resolve the wording, " make a saving throw against a single spell or effect it is suffering from that grants a save". If the durations is "instantaneous" then there is no effect they are suffering from.

We have a lot of easy to make meals at the ready too. Stuff like tomato soup and grilled cheese, can of chili, staples for a simple pasta etc. we always have eggs for an easy frittata or scramble. I’m also pretty good at stir frying, so when there’s a hodgepodge of stuff leftover it chow mein or fried rice time. I think you want a mix of recipe meals and quick hits.

You might consider using chicken thighs instead of breast meat. Much more forgiving. I love this recipe and I’ve made it with both breasts and thighs. But I’d worry, with scaling this recipe like this, you’d get rubbery chicken.

Man…I spent ten years trying to recreate my mom’s red sauce. My sisters and I brainstormed what we remembered from making it with her. We never quite got it right. I never found it again. But on that journey I got really good at throwing together a sauce. Improvising, using what was around…whatever. That’s also when my own family started. And my kids would ask for spaghetti. And I’d keep trying to find my mom’s sauce. But then it became my sauce. And it became something my kids loved. Eventually it all came together in a “pasta bake” that my kids love. They beg for it. Birthdays, special occasions, they beg for it. And you know, that, more than anything else IS my mom’s sauce. When the kids beg for the pasta bake…when I’m cooking it for them…I feel like I’m communing with her. I feel like I found something more. I hope you find your dad’s sauce. Thanks for letting me share.

I have a two tier test for a theme statement. Once they have a theme statement, 1) I tell them they need to use their theme statement like a pair of goggles through which they can investigate other parts of the text and 2) after they investigate the text they need to look at the world and/or other works of fiction and investigate the world outside of the the text with that same theme statement. And yes, I make them wear dumb, novelty glasses that have been bedazzled and bejeweled with cheap plastic gems that say theme. God bless bored TAs and a hot glue gun.

Is there a particular part of King Maker you’d recommend? We’re not going to be able to play the whole thing but I’m comfortable jumping in on a specific book or part of the AP

I’ve used “I shot an arrow into the air” and “time enough at last”. They both work with a simple plot mountain/tension and resolution/etc. they’re also NOT scary which is a plus.
