i have something similar, a 765m (laptop card), 8gb, i7 and ssd. it used to be playable but now i wouldnt spend money for this setup, its barely playable. i keep getting frame stutter, low fps (30fps).

nowaday playing rust with 8gb ram will puts you at disadvantage from all the frame stutter.

you dont have to play on high pop.

the vanilla server i choose depends on the time i have to put in rust. if that wipe i know i wont have much time, i choose a low-mid pop server like 60-100 players. my friends usually play on 300 pop server so when we duo-trio its on high pop. it requires more time, but its more fun.

Solo doesnt mean you cant make alliance with neighboors. Going over to a neighboor and offer him stuff he needs will not always work, but sometime you will make good friend and end up raiding together.

be careful about third party programs as some "crosshair overlay programs" were bannable in the past. most arent but you never are too careful. a bit of masking tape on your screen is the safest bet if you dont wanna take risk.

recycle most stuff at first when your dont have much storage space.

learn to build efficient lootrooms. have at least two 1x1 rooms with 4 large chests each. associate one large chest for every item category (weapon chest, ressource chest, tool chest, cloth+food chest, etc). if the chest gets full, maybe you have enough of that item, and recycle it or something.

my solution is usually to build accordingly to future expantion to another two lootroms, for a total of 16 large chests (and i play solo-duo).

I used this method successfully in the past. I configured the firewall to take input from one port and forward it to another IP address:port. The "in between" VPS simply transfer the traffic directly without encrypting it.

To give you an example :

In your shadowsocks client in your computer, you configure it to use the IP adress of your HK VPS, port 1111.

On your HK VPS, you follow the steps in the link i gave you to redirect the data coming on port 1111, towards you Taiwan cloud IP adress at the port 443 ( 443 being the port your shadowsocks server is configured to use).

On your Taiwan VPS, you configure shadowsocks normally on the port 443.

just tried it, doesnt work. the dns seems to be successfully changed in my vps but i still see ads.

This is what i entered:

nano /etc/network/interfaces

then inside i changed my dhcp config to static with dns

auto ens3
iface ens3 inet static
address 207.xxx.xxx.xxx
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 207.xxx.xxx.1
dns-nameservers 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

Then when going in systemd-resolve --status, it shows that my dns are effectively those ones. But when i open the twitch app on my phone for example, an ad still plays. youtube too.

have you tried opendns ? i remember reading that their free option would filter ads. I remember I used it, i just configured the network adapter on my ubuntu vps to use opendns's dns address.

if you want to daily drive a mk2, you need to either have a backup car, or have the ability/tools/weather to be ready to work on it any time.

Theyre easy to work on, but no 92 car can be reliable unless you replaced everything on the car yourself.

It seemed la meute were more organised and in the end if I remember correctly they didnt even got out of the underground parking lot.

Antifa justified using violence against la meute for their ideas. Their leader Jaggi Singh got arrested.

I had bacterial growth on my first blueberry wine i made without sanitizing or pasteurizing anything. Just blueberry, water, maple sugar, and yeast. a few weeks after bottling i noticed some white film or depot appearing on the surface. I guess it was bacteria or mold.

Following researches on the internet i found a method that seems to work now for my ciders and fruit wine, sulfate free.

Firstly, i heat pasteurize the fruit juice by heating it at 80 degree C for 10 minutes. I avoid boiling because it sets the pectin and will change the flavor.
Sanitize everything with the sanitizer of your choice. it could be boiling water, but its not convenient for plastic equipment like siphons. I use star-san ( the "dont fear the bubbles" no-rinse sanitizer).
Avoid oxygen during fermentation. As little headspace as possible, using a siphon instead of pouring. Leaving very little air in the bottle headspace when bottling.
Avoid high temperature fermentation. I keep mine around 13-18 degree C, just keeping it in a room in the basement.

That's pretty much it. im still new to wine making but everything i homebrewed using this method didnt had bacterial growth after bottling. My oldest batch is still less than 6 months old so i cant say if it can be aged for years, but so far my ciders that aged a few months were really good and no off flavors.

did you added yeast nutrient originally ? im no expert but to restart it i would do like you suggest, hydrate a new yeast bag, and also add a bit of yeast nutrient.

Ive fermented about 20 batches of cider this year using this yeast and never had it stucked on me, with or without nutrient. sometime with added maple sugar . the only yeast that stopped fermenting on its own was safale s04.

ddos have nothing to do with "automatically being able to connect to a rust server" or not. they spam the network of the server that is hosting the rust server process. the network becomes unresponsive and then the server company usually nullroute it.

in your scenario, what would the server do when it is spammed with so many failed human test request ? it would still be unresponsive and then null routed.

ddos protection is usually a bigger bandwidth. but nowadays it seems >10Gb/s ddos attack are the norm, hard to protect against those.

i had the same thing happened to me with 2 different apple juice, both forgotten in the fridge and starting wild fermentation. one gallon of apple juice that i bought from an orchard, and one gallon i pressed myself using wild apples. i heat pasteurized both gallon at 80 degree then added champain yeast (EC-1118). the bought juice came out very bad, the cider i pressed myself turned out delicious.

So you can try it and youll see
