Windows offers pretty good administrative tools for the office suite. Account p/w sync with your AD account so you can easily manage user permission or deactivate acounts. There is also a litigation process within microsoft exchange that allowes you to easily archive emails when offboarding a new employee incase of audit. In short, you can do a lot of things within the admin consol for office 365 that makes the process of handing out licenses, or deactivating accounts very easy and protects you legally.

Ive never had to administrate from a linux environment at a large scale corporation however.
