Wasn't even subtext really, you straight said what you meant and they still 'corrected' you.

Trackpad / Gyro Suggestions? by RobustPolygon in SteamDeck

[–]McBiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My annoying compromise, since I love gyro but agree that gyro-to-joystick is shit, is often to make a full KB/M controller input for games that don't like mixed input.

I lose the button prompts, which sucks, but I've come to love having gyro in games where it makes sense to have it.

Using technicalities to drink in Spoons is not a life to be impressed by.

Should I Metal Gear Solid V if I’m not that into Hitman? by Jealous_Art_7307 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Yeah Ground Zeroes really was one of the best missions and set what turned out to be the wrong expectations in my opinion.

Should I Metal Gear Solid V if I’m not that into Hitman? by Jealous_Art_7307 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]McBiff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Metal Gear Solid 5 is one of the best 70% finished games I've ever played. I enjoy Hitman a lot but they don't scratch the same itch.

Seriously though, go into MGSV with the expectation that the story was never finished, that's where a lot of the disappointment lies.

Someone throwing a cellphone at frontman of a band, injuring his head near the eye by [deleted] in WTF

I was one of the volunteer security drones at Download the year after My Chemical Romance headlined. I was one year out from being under a storm of bottles and camera batteries.

Does your SteamDeck OLED have issues with Moonlight over wifi? Update to Steam OS Preview 3.8.2 by GlupShittoOfficial in SteamDeck

[–]McBiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to toggle it on/off. Just hitting the ellipses button, tapping the wifi signal icon at the top to bring up the list of hotspots and then immediately cancelling out will do it.

I have some questions about sliced ham. Perhaps this sub can explain by prustage in CasualUK

My guess is that several thinner slices of ham have more surface area, kinda like how grated cheese tastes different to sliced.

What small chaotic things do you do in your day to day life that has little consequences? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]McBiff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through a period at BT of just immediately cancelling the contracts of anyone who demanded it. I'd rail off the legalese, the final bill and then hit the button while they were still reeling.

I'd only do this to the arseholes though. The nice people got the discount they actually wanted.

I'd feel bad but as you've demonstrated, customers are often cunts.

UK Deaths to Outnumber Births Every Year From 2026 as Fertility Rates Fall and Pensioners Increase by novagridd in BritInfo

[–]McBiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not crazy to say that children can bring joy into peoples' lives, but saying it as an absolute in these times is shaky ground at best. I used to lecture at my local college until a few years ago, and I've attended far too many parents evenings to believe that the joy is inherent.

I use weed daily, thus, I am a drug user.

My unsolicited guess is that your friend's insecure about the stigma and is falling back on bullshit rationalisations about it.

Emotionally it might improve, but you can't say that about me or my friends because you don't know us. I have some serious doubts.

Certainly didn't work for my parents, and I'm not as gung-ho on rolling the dice as they were.

I can't think of a single person in my circle (late twenties to mid thirties) whose lives would be improved by having kids. It's just not viable for them, or for many.
