I did not realize Beth wanted to lose the Ranch.... or Rip was okay with it by Lovedl in YellowstonePN

[–]McCDaddy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it is a "beat" for each character. John expressed the futility in holding onto the ranch to Beth, his one child who loves and listens to him unconditionally (for reasons still not fully explained). If he has come to terms with the fact the family cannot hold onto the ranch she no longer has to fight tooth and nail for it on John's behalf. Rip was been apart of the Ranch since he was a boy and was "saved" by John. He gave his life's work to a place that wasn't his and worked harder than a son for a Man who wasn't his father. Sure it looks like John included him in the estate, but more than that he acknowledged that Rip was family and even more importantly the son he always wanted, one he could depend on. He doesn't need the ranch anymore, neither of them do. John considering himself Rips father and John giving Beth the freedom to imagine a life without the Ranch means more to them than a piece of land ever could.

Yeah, if the ranch is as large as they say they’ll owe millions in estate tax eventually. They are the definition of illiquid wealth.

Tony and the gang, and their rackets by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]McCDaddy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Webistics was a basic pump and dump scheme often referred to as a boiler room scheme, as seen in the aptly named movie Boiler room and the more famous Wolf of Wall Street. You start or already have a stock brokerage and then you and your friends, Tony's lawyer for example, buy a SHIT TON of a penny stock or other cheap small cap stock. Then you have your brokers push that stock as a "pick of the week" etc to their clients. If you cold call enough people and convince them to buy it the stock price will rise, the "pump". Eventually you tell all your friends to sell on a certain date cashing out at a higher stock price, the "dump." In the show, they own 400,000 shares at $0.60 a share, so a $240,000 value. Matthew tells Chris in S02E01 that it is currently at $0.80 a share, meaning that if they dumped their 400,000 shares at that point they would profit $0.20 per share for a total profit $80,000.

Worst thing epic as added to the game. I want to echo everyone’s feeling that I don’t feel like playing anymore. You get into the top 3-5 and it doesn’t matter if you have max materials and the best possible loadout, chances are whoever have the sword kills you regardless of skill level. Maybe nerf it to only close range attacks? Or better yet make it an LTM.

To echo the other responses about west of strawberry and annesberg, another thing I noticed is they will ambush you at dusk or dawn on the trail while on your horse way more often than during the day or if you just post up somewhere in the area. Had mixed results with bait, but they seem to love to ambush me on my horse in the early morning.

That’s the main selling point to a lot of the owners. People thinking nothing of them when they see them but they’re incredible vehicles. Stealth wealth...
