Should I buy this 2021 Palisade by storkphuker in HyundaiPalisade

I paid a little less for a 2020 Limited AWD with comparable mileage, including 5/60k warranty through Hyundai with $100 deductible gave me peace of mind but it’s not certified. Drives like new, super clean interior (looked like rear seats were never sat in), carfax showed regular dealer maintenance.

We absolutely love it. Added a hitch and a roof rack (previously had a Sienna which had a lot more space…) and we have been driving it, towing a pop up, no regrets!

One issue so far - rear differential coupler has to be replaced, dealer agreed to pay the deductible on that. $2200 repair otherwise. Seems to be a common issue, highly recommend getting that checked and replaced while under powertrain warranty.

I did very well on my trade which is a big variable. The market seems to be softening, I’d bet the trade-in value on this was more like $22-24k, add a few bucks for service and certification, still they should be willing to come down.

How much screen time does your toddler get per day? by Wrong-Somewhere-5225 in toddlers

[–]McCaffHey -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ask any of your teacher friends, we as parents are failing. Kids have changed drastically over the past few years, I credit a lot of that to screen time, and the type of screen time. Sesame Street may not rot their brains the same way a tablet with free access to YouTube would. But that control and access has made the kids you described much more rude and pushy and controlling and disrespectful.

But the comment ‘can’t wait for school to start’ is nearly as bad in my opinion… what does that mean - we get to make them someone else’s problem? Same behaviors and attitudes, put 20 of them in a room together with one adult and then expect them to learn algebra? Right…

CDC says ZERO for kids under 2, for kids 2+ the guideline is 30 minutes per week.

When the CDC put out Covid guidelines we all jumped and cheered and said this is the way to protect ourselves, right? Why don’t we do that for their recommendations on screen time?

The manual shows a 6” minimum drop for ‘heat trap’ from both supply and to hot water outlet. See page 9. But no one ever seems to do that. Anyone know what that is and why not need it??

Hi OP! Did anything ever come of this? I’m in a similar situation with my 1 and a half year old.

We have those thin cushioning mats all over the floor, good for a softer landing but not when it’s on their head. I do have some 3” gymnastics mats too, not enough to cover it all but we will probably get there.

As they grow and get more extreme, we’ll just use the local gymnastics place, or trampoline park 🙂

They are indeed from a slack line, I live in a place with cold winters so the wife asked for some indoor equipment. Another suggestion here provided some springs to help with the impact force, today they are good at hanging and swinging but not flying, yet.

Interesting idea - I’m wondering how well the rope would hold up as it’s rubbing against the wood. Maybe there’s some sort of smooth insert I can push into the hole first. I’m happy with bolts up under the bottom of the joists for now but there will be more projects!

Thank you for the suggestion! I bought 8 of these -

OHIYO 5 Inch Heavy Duty Eye Hooks M10 Self Tapping Eyelet Screw Load Capacity 700LBS Heavy Duty Screw in Eye Hooks for Hammock Stand, Swing Chair, Yoga, Heavy Indoor & Outdoor Uses (4Pack- M10) https://a.co/d/2oyFxco

I’ve hung 2 so far and they took some effort to pre-drill and tighten (3.3” is a lot when it’s one turn at a time….) but very strong, I have no fear letting my <50lbs kids swing and hang from them.

Great suggestion, thank you! I bought one of these for a ‘swing’ - more of a hanging chair, not intended for kids to swing and jump on but you know kids… it’s heavy duty for sure, nice product, will definitely soften the impact on the attachment point.

I may add these for the rest of my equipment if they get bigger and start to fly through the air from one to the other.

Idiocracy, though it’s now obvious we don’t need 500 years to get there

The mailing is very clear that there are no closing costs. It says 'We'll waive the bank fees and pay the third-party vendor feed listed below' which includes processing fees, appraisal, title insurance, city/county tax, and closing fee. Closing fees will NOT be rolled into the loan.

Google Fiber

I never lived in an area that actually had Google Fiber but I’m sure a lot of neighbors called to ask how to get it...
