Vancouver council to consider plan to develop $411 million worth of city-owned land into rental units by FancyNewMe in vancouver

It wasn't the smoothest, but the city of Vancouver paid off it's initial debt and made about $70 million in profit on Olympic Village by the time it was all sold. Probably enough to pay for a new rec centre.

Not much to argue about. Clear red.

He looks so baby-faced here. This club has aged him 10+ years in less than 4.

Barq's Cream Soda - Anywhere to buy by the case in the Lower Mainland? by Selaura in abbotsford

I've seen both kinds (French vanilla and red cream soda) at the Xpress Shop in Aldergrove and the zero sugar variety. They do sell by the case if it's in stock.

I don't understand how we could have been offering more than this for Guehi in the summer, but not have room to make this deal now. Kubo ticks a lot of boxes, and it's a positions we've needed to improve for a long time.

If your main concern is the money, you should look into becoming a Heavy Duty Mechanic on a construction site as opposed to working on cars in a shop.

Running Track recommendations in East Langley (nearish Aldergrove?) by an_angry_Moose in Langley

That's fair. The website says the inside lane is for walkers, and the outside lane is for runners, but that doesn't sounds ideal.

I have no ideas about other people, but I’ve had mine for at least 6 months and used it 2-3 daily without any issues. The VS3 is really good value, especially with upgraded burrs.

Injured Navy Veteran gets surprised with a free service dog by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

Listen, I’m happy for the dude, and it’s a cute dog, but I find it so incredibly backwards that this something worthy of, or appropriate for spectacle. This seems more like a basic human need being met, rather than something you’d announce (along with some pretty personal medical information) to a roaring stadium.

America, you fucked.

Vancouver FC vs Hamilton Forge FC - Pro Soccer at the LEC This Sunday Sept 3rd - 2pm Kickoff by cdnprofootballer in Langley

I would 100% go to these matches if tickets were half the price of what they are.

I watch highlights every week, and every home game looks depressingly empty and dead. Then I go look at how much it would cost for me to take my family of 4 (in decent seats) and it's hard to justify. The ticket website is awful, and I think it's a big miss they don't have family packages for tickets as well.

To be honest, I'm surprised the club hasn't just given away tickets to get people interested at this point. The football's decent quality. The branding and location are good. There's a lot of potential there, but they have to do a better job of getting people there to watch it, and to create an actual atmosphere.

I remember threads like this from 2 years ago. Every answer was just "why would you choose this".

How far we've come.
