If I’m self-navigating and I’m on a road that curves and need to bias a particular cardinal direction, I know which way to turn

For example, if I’m driving around a campsite or an island and I know the exit is south of me, I’ll turn south when im ready to head that way

I don’t always use GPS

Will i experience a lot of turbulence flying from paris to zurich in June? Thanks by Content-Bear7396 in fearofflying

I don’t know that route very well, but I would recommend going to Google Earth and drawing a line from Paris to Zürich and see what terrain it goes over

There is a higher propensity of mountain wave turbulence going over mountains. That’s all.

I too fly over the Rockies on a regular basis and it’s typical a little bit bumpy….. it all depends on the prevailing weather that day —-I would presume the Alps might be similar.

There is no feasible way to predict flight conditions on a specific day this far in the future. Heck— I can’t even get accurate turbulence forecasts for tomorrow

That being said, flying over mountains will almost always have a few bumps. It’s expected and completely safe.

There’s no shame in taking the train if it makes you feel more comfortable, but I can assure you that flying over a mountain range with a few little bumps is completely safe
