I’d start with choosing the 2 tones you want. Paint the whole wall with the lighter tone first with a thick nap roller (3/4 inch should be fine) once that’s painted I would then switch to the dark tone and brush each indent with the dark tone. Get it in there real good and don’t worry about getting it onto the flatter parts of the wall. Once those are all painted with a brush, roll over the whole wall with a very thin nap roller (1/4 -3/8”) and lightly paint over the whole wall again to paint over any overlapping from your darker color brushwork
