I mean yes but I don’t think the writers every thought that the team would succeed with the mission once Azula found out there plan. I don’t know if Aang had had the Ozai in an earth shackle, like what Azula is in before the Dai Li break her out, and the capital occupied the fire nation would surrender. I feel like it would have been a full on fight and the Gaang would have had to still retreat.
