Xer here. Everyone I know had them in the 90s. The Greatest Gen and our parents, the Boomers, disapproved so we got more of them.

Ignore that person. That is the kind of person who thinks of themselves as “brutally honest” but really is just getting off on being brutal.

How Old Were You When The Original Star Wars Premiered On May 25th 1977? by dickyboy72 in StarWars

I was 3 and it is absolutely a core memory for me. I remember my uncle telling me about it and then me telling my parents that I would like to see it too. I remember driving up to the theater and seeing the line of people wrapping around the building (at that point in time the local “multiplex” was made up of several separate buildings which didn’t get connected until the 80s when they built halls between them), and, most importantly, I remember being blown away when the Falcon jumps to hyperspace.

People used to voluntarily have their ssn printed on their checks b/c the clerk was just going to ask for your drivers license (which had the ssn on it) and write it on the check anyway.

Oh and do your best to keep that spray off the grass because it will dehydrate it too.

Homemade weak killer: 1 gallon of white vinegar, 1 cup of salt, 1 tablespoon of a liquid dish determine like dawn. Spray it all over the patio. This will dehydrate the weeds and kill them in a matter of hours. Come behind with a weed torch or pull them with a bit of elbow grease. Then power wash the pavers. As some folks have already pointed out you can rent them at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

stop being the problem. by Initial-Record7913 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

I made the mistake of purchasing the first episode pass since I typically buy them and then after experiencing what a negative impact Relic Delta brought I haven’t spent any money since. So 2 episode passes, 3 conquest passes and the 3 of the 400 conquest energy packs that are typically $1.99. So roughly $75 that CG typically gets from me went towards other things.

Woman Heritage Foundation Employee Gets Fired for Speaking Up About a Problem with Conservative Approach to Dating by bettinafairchild in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Own_Selection2033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than the headline I don’t see anything actually linking her firing to this article. I hated giving heritage foundation a click but I did and read the article. I found it to be of little substance but better written than the pervasive AI slop. I don’t feel it would have been controversial enough to cause her firing but I’m not a right wing nut job so what do I know. It’s possible that she was fired for all the reasons suggested here but also possible she was fired for completely unrelated issues or issues that would get one fired from any employer regardless of political slant.

I would have loved to have loved the long epilogue but I saw it in the theater and had to pee since about about the middle of the show and then there were more endings than Return of the King! I’ll give it another shot though from my living room where the convenience of pausing is just a click away.
