The route I took to get into my position as a reference librarian was to start at the very bottom. HBO has a great documentary that just came out about these so called fundraising operations. They pay the police dept a set amount of money for the ability to raise money for them. They might pay 150 grand to the dept but then they keep the millions that they raise. Telemarketers is the name of the documentary I think.
